As reported by Reuters on May 29, the video was filmed in Istanbul during celebrations for the Turkish president’s re-election on May 28. Separately, thousands of protesters gathered on Oct. 28 in Istanbul for one of the largest pro-Palestinian rallies since the Israel-Hamas war began. The video is unrelated to the October 2023 Israel-Hamas conflict and depicts Erdogan supporters in May 2023.

The nighttime video of a large column of people was also shared on Facebook. The video, however, was posted on X on Oct. 5 by a Brazilian football page called “Planeta do Futebol” and was credited to sports journalist Marcela Rafael. Rafael told Reuters in an email that the video shows fans of Brazil’s Palmeiras team before a match against the Argentine Boca Juniors in the Copa Libertadores, the South American equivalent of Europe's Champions League. The video shows soccer fans heading to watch a match in Sao Paolo, not a pro-Palestinian protest in France.

A doctored video of Greta Thunberg is spreading online showing the environmental campaigner advertising a book called Vegan Wars and promoting the use of “vegan grenades” and “sustainable tanks and weaponry” during wars. In the clip, Thunberg speaks during a BBC interview with audio that doesn’t match her mouth movements. “If you use hand grenades, please use vegan grenades. Reuters has contacted Greta Thunberg for comment. A video showing Greta Thunberg promoting “vegan grenades” and a book called Vegan Wars is a deepfake made using a November 2022 BBC interview with the activist.

Around 1 a.m. on Oct. 29 in Chicago, officers responded to a call about shots fired in the neighborhood of North Lawndale, according to a release on the Chicago Police Department (CPD) website. In a media conference on Oct. 29, CPD 10th District Commander William Betancourt said the shooting occurred at a Halloween gathering. There were no deaths in an Oct. 29 Chicago shooting incident in which 15 people were injured.

The arrest of Florida resident Le’Keian Woods on Sept. 29 has sparked online narratives regarding his treatment at the hands of officers of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. Bystander footage of the arrest first circulated online with some users saying Woods, who is Black, suffered a disproportionately brutal arrest by white officers for a seatbelt violation, while others suggested the arrest was warranted because drugs were found in the vehicle with Woods. It is dated as Titanic’s “Nr. However, a search through the monthly magazine’s online archive shows no such cover was published by Titanic. Furthermore, a search through Titanic’s official Twitter account did not reveal the supposed cover, nor did a search through the website’s Facebook page. There is no record of Titanic publishing such a cover and the October edition features a different issue number and image.
