(AP) — Three law enforcement officers in Northern Nevada were shot and wounded Friday, after a traffic stop in the Reno area quickly escalated into an hourslong standoff that included several shootouts between officers and the suspect, police said. The violent standoff ended around 10:30 p.m. Friday when officers found the suspect dead inside a stranger's home where he had been hiding, Crawforth said. That's when the Washoe County deputy and a second Sparks police officer were shot, Crawforth said. A marine robotics company recently captured an object on the ocean floor, about 15,000 feet below the surface of the Pacific Ocean. Earhart’s flight plan was well known. According to Earhart biographer Doris Rich, the US government had obtained permits for the countries she would stop in along the way. And it fit her need of a refueling stop in the western Pacific Ocean. In 1997, pilot Elgen Long and his wife Marie Long published the book, “Amelia Earhart: The Mystery Solved.” The Longs laid out facts and solid suppositions for others to follow.

CNN —Donald Trump is not immune from prosecution for alleged crimes he committed during his presidency to reverse the 2020 election results, a federal appeals court said Tuesday. The ruling is a major blow to Trump’s key defense thus far in the federal election subversion case brought against him by special counsel Jack Smith. “For the purpose of this criminal case, former President Trump has become citizen Trump, with all of the defenses of any other criminal defendant. But any executive immunity that may have protected him while he served as President no longer protects him against this prosecution,” the court wrote. Not protected under separation of powers clauseThe appeals court found that Trump is not protected from criminal prosecution under the separation of powers clause.
