SEATTLE (AP) — The Atlanta Braves acquired outfielder Jarred Kelenic, pitcher Marco Gonzales and infielder Evan White from the Seattle Mariners on Sunday night for right-handed pitchers Cole Phillips and Jackson Kowar. The move added a veteran lefty to the Braves pitching staff, along with Kelenic, who at one time was one of baseball's top young prospect. NEW ORLEANS (AP) — As much as 1.1 million gallons of oil may have been discharged into the Gulf of Mexico from a pipeline system off Louisiana's southeast coast, the U.S. Coast Guard said Tuesday. The oil discharge was discovered amid high winds in the Gulf, which helped some of the oil evaporate and disperse. The Coast Guard said the oil was discovered near a pipeline system owned by Main Pass Oil Company, a subsidiary of Houston-based Third Coast Infrastructure LLC. WWL-TV reported Friday that pipeline gauges indicated 1.1 million gallons of oil were lost. The amount is far less than the 2010 BP oil disaster, when 134 million gallons were released in the weeks following an oil rig explosion.

CNN —A man armed with guns and explosive devices was found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound at a Colorado amusement park, potentially averting “an attack of devastating proportions,” officials said. The 20-year-old’s body was found in a women’s bathroom Saturday morning before the scheduled opening time of the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park in Glenwood Springs, the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office said. Investigators also found a “very well-put-together” fake IED in Medina’s car, in addition to a real explosive device, Vallario said. Patches affiliated with law enforcement groups were found, the sheriff said, but investigators don’t know how Medina got them. With the volume of weapons, ammunition and explosive devices Medina had, he “could have done a tremendous amount of damage,” the sheriff said.

If you held some bitcoin in your 60/40 portfolio back in 2014, you might have gotten a nice lift from the then-shadowy cryptocurrency, according to a Citi analysis of bitcoin returns. That return rose to 7.42% when analysts added a 1% allocation toward bitcoin. When committing 5% of the portfolio to the flagship cryptocurrency, that return rose to 9.3%, Citi analyst Alex Saunders said in a recent note. "Historically speaking, an allocation to Bitcoin would have enhanced portfolio returns," Saunders said in an Oct. 20 report. The firm also determined that to justify a 5% bitcoin allocation to a 60/40 portfolio, the cryptocurrency would need to generate annualized returns of 12% to 16%.
