A Spirit Airlines flight to Haiti was hit by gunfire on Monday, injuring a flight attendant, as the State Department warned of "gang-led efforts" to stop travel to the country. Spirit released a statement confirming that one of its flights from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to Port-au-Prince, Haiti, was diverted to the Dominican Republic on Monday. "One Flight Attendant on board reported minor injuries and is being evaluated by medical personnel," the statement said. Travel to Haiti, which is still in the midst of violent political turmoil, is not advised by the State Department. "Only attempt to depart Haiti or travel within Haiti if you believe it is safe for you to do so."

American women in general are having children later, but the delay is most pronounced among the most educated. Even religious conservatives, who are biblically motivated to be fruitful and multiply, are starting families later and more often having only one child. CNN —Is it safe to drink alcohol while taking antidepressant medications? More than one-third of college students today suffer from moderate to severe anxiety and depressive symptoms, according to the 2023-204 Health Minds Study, and it’s good that many are getting help. About 1 in 5 college students, or 22%, report taking prescription antidepressants within the preceding year, the study found, and about 1 in 3 students, or 36%, has received professional counseling. Drinking alcohol, which ultimately depletes these chemicals, therefore creates more work to improve your mental health, which is the primary reason not to drink while taking antidepressants. No doctor, including me, is ever going to recommend drinking alcohol while taking antidepressants.

“We’re going to be asking everyone who sells drugs, gets caught, to receive the death penalty for their heinous acts,” he added. CNN —Qatar announced Saturday that it has paused its role as a mediator for a ceasefire in Gaza between Israel and Hamas due to a lack of willingness by the sides to reach an agreement. After months of stop-and-go negotiations, efforts to reach a ceasefire and hostage release deal – a top priority for President Joe Biden – remain stalled. Officials in Doha have also decided to close Hamas’ political office in the Qatari capital, a diplomat familiar with the decision told CNN. In April, Doha made a similar move in temporarily closing the Hamas office. As talks faltered, the Biden administration and Israel asked Doha to bring them back, the diplomat told CNN.

Bomb threats sent to polling places and ballot-counting locations in at least five battleground states across the U.S. Tuesday targeted mostly Democratic counties, an NBC News analysis has found. Of the 67 locations, 56 were in 11 counties that voted for Joe Biden in the 2020 election, including the eight most populated. Those high-population Democratic counties include voting locations for Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Detroit, Michigan; Phoenix, Arizona; Atlanta, Georgia; and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Maricopa County, Arizona, which Biden won by a slim margin, has consistently been the subject of election denialism conspiracy theories. Some of the threats also included counties that voted heavily for Donald Trump in 2020, including the comparatively smaller Blair and Clearfield Counties in Pennsylvania.

After I was diagnosed with autism, it made sense why these networking events were so hard for me. I didn't have to maintain eye contact with someone new every five minutes or try to make out what they were saying over a loud crowd. Then, three years later, I was diagnosed with autism at 21, and it suddenly made sense why networking was extra difficult for me.
