New York City’s Noguchi Museum said on Wednesday it fired three employees after they violated its updated dress code by wearing keffiyeh head scarves, which have become an emblem of solidarity with the Palestinian cause. Across the world in protests demanding an end to Israel’s war in Gaza, demonstrators have worn the black-and-white keffiyeh head scarf, saying it identifies with Palestinian self-determination. Israel’s supporters say it is provocative and a sign of backing extremism. Natalie Cappellini, one of the three gallery attendants who was fired, took to Instagram to say the museum leadership was weaponizing the term “political” against the Palestinian cause. A New York City hospital fired a Palestinian American nurse in May after she called Israel’s actions in Gaza a “genocide” during an acceptance speech for an award.

CNN —Taylor Swift was among the many stars to channel ’90s fashion at the MTV Video Music Awards on Wednesday, wearing a chic taffeta bustier and skirt by Dior. But with its punk-accented stylings, in the form of black buckles, collar and zipped fitted front, Swift’s version is, by far, the edgiest. Quoting its founder Christian Dior, the brand called tartan “the only fancy fabric that resists fashions” in the show notes. The look on Wednesday night was a departure from Swift’s typical red carpet style. Taylor Swift's outfit was hot off the Dior Cruise 2025 runway, staged in Perthshire, Scotland.

WINDER, Ga. — Many students in Georgia’s Barrow County headed back to class Tuesday, six days after a shooting killed two teachers and two students at the school district’s Apalachee High School northeast of Atlanta. Shaw, a co-senior author of the new study, acknowledged a link between early puberty and excess weight in young girls. “I do think it plays a role, but in my practice, it’s not just those who are overweight or obese who are having early puberty,” she said. But children were most likely to be exposed to only one of them: musk ambrette, according to the report, published in Endocrinology. Musk ambrette is widely used in inexpensive or counterfeit fragrances and other scented personal care products, Shaw said. She was surprised that phthalates, which have been linked to early puberty, didn’t come up in the research.

Exchange-traded fund inflows have already topped monthly records in 2024, and managers think inflows could see an impact from the money market fund boom before year-end. "Whether it be flows into REIT ETFs or just the broader ETF market, that's going to be a real potential catalyst here to watch." Total assets in money market funds set a new high of $6.24 trillion this past week, according to the Investment Company Institute. "If that yield comes down, the return on money market funds should come down as well," said State Street Global Advisors' Matt Bartolini in the same interview. "Assuming stocks don't experience a massive pullback, I think investors will continue to allocate here, and ETF inflows can break that record," he said.

The Summary Many young climate advocates see Kamala Harris as stronger on environmental issues than Joe Biden. President Joe Biden may have passed the United States’ most significant climate legislation ever, but many young environmental activists say they see Kamala Harris as stronger on the issue. But several young climate activists ages 16 to 29 said for them, the expansion of the fossil fuel industry during Biden’s presidency has clouded those successes. Harris’ young supporters have highlighted the settlements she secured as California attorney general with Chevron, BP and ConocoPhillips over their handling of hazardous materials.
