Listening to favorite songs could reduce people’s perception of pain, according to a new study published Wednesday in the journal Frontiers in Pain Research. And the most effective pain relievers were found to be sad songs detailing bittersweet and emotional experiences. He was not involved in the latest study but has conducted his own research on the relationship between pain and music. With millions of songs available, one person’s favorite song is likely not the same as another. While he didn’t research chills in this study, Valevicius hypothesized that these sensations might be signs of sensory gating.

BOSTON (AP) — Investigators have identified two individuals allegedly involved in a shooting that claimed the life of a baby delivered after its mother was one of several people hit by gunfire during a fight Wednesday in downtown Holyoke, Massachusetts. Alejandro Ramos, 22, of Holyoke, is scheduled to be arraigned in Holyoke District Court on Thursday for his alleged involvement in the shooting, investigators said. An official at the Hampden District Attorney’s Office said it was unclear if Ramos had been appointed an attorney yet. Police responded to the shooting Wednesday at 12:38 p.m. and said it appeared three male suspects were involved in an altercation before gunshots were fired. The company Cruise is pushing back against an accusation from the San Francisco Fire Department, which claims that one of the company's autonomous vehicles delayed an ambulance after a deadly accident. The department said emergency medical service crews faced a problem getting to the collision: two Cruise taxis blocking the road. But NBC Bay Area was able to review a nearly 13 minute video which is purportedly the incident in question. It appears to show what the company describes, including the ambulance managing to squeeze by the stopped Cruise car.

MADRID, Aug 28 (Reuters) - Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr. is expected to be sidelined for a number of weeks after the LaLiga club said he had suffered a thigh muscle injury during last Friday's match at Celta Vigo. Jr by the Real Madrid medical services, the player has been diagnosed with an injury to the right biceps femoris muscle. The 23-year-old's injury is the latest setback to hit Real Madrid, whose goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and defender Eder Militao are expected to be out of action for the rest of the season with ACL tears. New-recruit Arda Guler will also be sidelined for several months as he recovers from knee surgery. Midfielder Dani Ceballos and fullback Ferland Mendy are also recovering from muscle injuries suffered during the first few weeks of the season.
