Activist investor Elliott Management has a $5 billion-plus stake in Honeywell , and it is pushing the industrial conglomerate to break itself up into two companies. Elliott managing partner Jesse Cohn and partner Marc Steinberg wrote in a Tuesday letter that "the conglomerate structure that once suited Honeywell no longer does." Elliott believes that dividing Honeywell into two companies could unlock upside of as much as 75% over the next two years. In the past, Cohn and Steinberg wrote, Honeywell's carefully assembled businesses had previously driven "consistent" margin improvements. A Honeywell spokesperson said that the company and its board "acknowledge and appreciate the perspectives of all our shareholders."

To boost their credentials, the unnamed suspects organized two Banksy exhibitions with a published catalog in prestigious locations in Mestre near Venice and Cortona in Tuscany, investigators said.

Instead, they’re turning to the internet for lower-cost options, whether a pop-up foldable house kit, a tiny home or a traditional mobile home. Amazon is not the first major retailer to sell manufactured homes. More than 100 years ago, American retailer Sears, Roebuck and Co began selling kit homes from its catalog, with some for under $1,000. A 2023 Urban Institute paper argued that mobile homes were “uniquely vulnerable” to natural disasters compared to other housing.

The total bill for ad spending in the 2024 election hit almost $11 billion, a new record and a substantial increase from the $9 billion spent in 2020. That's according to AdImpact, a firm that tracks political ad spending. The total is in line with the firm's 2023 projection that 2024 would see more ad spending than ever before. Overall, the Democratic campaign and pro-Democratic outside groups spent almost $1.8 billion, while the Trump campaign and pro-Republican outside groups spent $1.4 billion.
