"There's been very little marking down of (private) assets," said Con Keating, head of research at Brighton Rock Group, an insurance company for pension schemes. Uber is switching its $600 million ad buying business from WPP to rival Omnicom, according to two people familiar with the matter. Uber began a competitive pitch for its media business in March. Florian Adamski, Omnicom Media Group CEO, said in a statement that its agencies would make its "strategic data capabilities" central to its work for Uber. Omnicom media agencies have notched up a handful of sizeable wins since the beginning of July. New business has included the $585 million Beiersdorf account, the $150 million global HSBC business, and the $150 million brief from lottery operator Allwyn Entertainment, according to marketing industry tracker COMvergence.

McDonald's is increasing royalty fees for new restaurants by 25% from January. The burger giant is set to increase its monthly royalty fees from 4% to 5% of gross sales for new restaurants opened by franchisees, starting January 1, CNBC first reported. McDonald's is also changing the name of the charge from service fee to royalty fee. McDonald's currently charges a 5% royalty rate "in all owned markets, except for the US and Canada," the company said in another memo to franchisees.
