Rising popularity from hedge funds can be a strong signal of outperformance in the near future for stocks, and Goldman Sachs highlighted which names the smart money is loving right now. The Wall Street bank analyzed the holdings of 735 hedge funds with $2.4 trillion of both long and short equity positions at the start of the fourth quarter, based on regulatory filings. Goldman then identified a slew of Russell 1000 stocks with the largest increase in number of hedge fund owners during the quarter. Kenvue , the consumer health business that Johnson & Johnson spun out as an independent company earlier this year, saw 48 hedge funds in total adding it as a holding last quarter, Goldman said. Peter Tarnoff, a seasoned diplomat whose work behind the scenes for presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton included establishing a secret channel to Fidel Castro and helping arrange the escape of six U.S. Embassy officials from Iran, an escapade later depicted in the 2012 movie “Argo,” died on Nov. 1 at his home in San Francisco. His wife, Mathea Falco, said the cause of death was complications of Parkinson’s disease. Mr. Tarnoff was part of a cohort of Foreign Service officers who, inspired by the words of President John F. Kennedy, joined the American diplomatic corps in the early 1960s. Many of them cut their teeth on assignment in South Vietnam, and several — among them Mr. Tarnoff, Anthony Lake, Frank Wisner II and Richard Holbrooke — went on to play leading roles in the U.S. foreign policy establishment. Following the pandemic, the state of mental health in America saw such a great decline that the U.S. Yet, former first lady Rosalynn Carter, who passed away on Sunday at her home in Plains, Georgia at the age of 96, advocated for mental health long before 2020. Early on, Carter recognized the disconnect between individuals with mental health conditions and people without them. She made sure to hold her husband, former President Jimmy Carter, who is now 99 years old, to the same standard. Rosalynn Carter, who died on Sunday at age 96, was rarely included on any list of best-dressed first ladies. She was not generally called “stylish” or “trendsetting.” She did not play the White House dress-up game, at least as designed by predecessors such as Dolley Madison and Jackie Kennedy.
