The Senate on Thursday confirmed Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court. Jackson makes history as the first Black woman to become a Supreme Court justice. The 51-year-old jurist currently serves on the second-most powerful court in the country, the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit, often considered a launchpad to the Supreme Court. Biden appointed her to that seat a year ago, which, at the time, sparked rumors that she would make the shortlist if a Supreme Court vacancy arose.
