She earned the title as the oldest living person in America following the death of 115-year-old Elizabeth Francis last month. Whitehead grew up on a farm, and "picked cotton and tobacco," she told New Castle News last year. Though regular exercise wasn't ever important to Whitehead, her daily strenuous physical activity was "plowing in the field," she told YouTuber Jack Gordon in an interview. Whitehead's responses to Gordon's questions were typically just a few words, but she was still able to recite an extended bible verse at age 114.

Bidding starts at $550,000, and the letter is expected to fetch up to $1 million when it goes under the hammer on November 12. Objects and artifacts linked to the founding fathers often prove popular at auction, attracting astronomical bids. In 2017, manuscripts, personal letters and hundreds of other documents from founding father Alexander Hamilton’s desk sold for a total of $2.6 million at Sotheby’s in New York, according to the auction house.

But several studies conclude that the cost of those tariffs were borne almost entirely by American consumers and businesses. The most generous interpretation of Trump’s tariff plan would be that he’s trying to force US businesses to move their overseas operations back on US soil, creating jobs. In the event that Trump wins, staffers detailed to the special counsel’s office would have the option to go back to their home divisions within the Justice Department. But former prosecutors on the Trump case could face a difficult workplace, once Trump’s appointees are running the department.
