The Theranos founder is expected to do so at Bryan federal prison camp in Texas. Elizabeth Holmes, the convicted founder of Theranos, is expected to start serving her 11-year sentence at a federal prison camp in Texas Tuesday. At the prison camp, the 39-year-old mother of two will have no choice but to don khaki prison garb. A copy of "Bad Blood," John Carreyrou's book about the rise and fall of Holmes and Theranos, has been spotted in the library of the prison camp, per The Journal. The prison camp holds about 650 women convicted of white-collar crimes, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
Elizabeth Holmes will be staying at the same prison camp as Real Housewives star Jen ShahThe Texas women's prison offers business skill classes to all inmates. Both Holmes and Shah have been convicted of fraud relating to their business practices. Elizabeth Holmes is set to begin her 11-year sentence for fraud related to her failed blood-testing business at a prison camp in Texas that, ironically, offers business classes to inmates, according to an inmate orientation handbook. Holmes was convicted in November 2022 of three charges of wire fraud and one conspiracy to commit wire fraud charge after a jury found she defrauded investors in her health tech company Theranos. It's not all bad though: the prison offers wellness classes, arts and crafts, and leisure programs.
Holmes will soon ditch her turtleneck and work in a factory line, earning 12 cents to a dollar. The disgraced Theranos CEO has been instructed to report to a Texas prison at the end of May. Holmes was convicted on four counts of fraud and conspiracy in January 2022. Elizabeth Holmes will soon be switching out her famous black turtleneck in favor of drab khaki prison wear when she reports to a prison in Texas at the end of the month. At the Texas prison, Holmes will be expected to dress in khaki pants and shirts and will have to dispense with any jewelry exceeding $100 in value, per an inmate admission and orientation handbook.
This year, advertisers and ad agencies may well use the strike as a bargaining tool, said Erin Firneno, vice president of business intelligence for researcher Advertiser Perceptions. The writers’ strike, which has entered its third week, is also injecting a new element of uncertainty for ad buyers, at a time when television viewership is declining and the possibility of recession looms. While the TV networks have long contended with splintered viewership amid the rise of social media and streaming, the writers' strike puts content production at risk, said Rishad Tobaccowala, a former executive at advertising and public relations giant Publicis Groupe and advisor on business transformation. Last year, NBC’s upfront presentation emphasized star power as the network returned to a live event after a COVID-19-imposed hiatus. Ahead of the upfront presentations, media executives sought to reassure investors about the strike’s impact.
The Hollywood writers' strike could drive an increase in demand for unscripted programming. Insider identified companies dominating the genre, producing reality content for top networks and streamers. Check out 22 companies making top titles including "90-Day Fiancé," "Real Housewives," and more. Even if the writers' strike is resolved more quickly than pundits generally are predicting, reality TV's future looks bright. Reality shows are also a way for streamers to grow their international audience as much of it translates globally.

Case in point – he has the letters “MSG” tattooed on his arm, and his restaurant’s menu includes a signature drink called the MSG Martini. “Things just taste better with MSG, whether it’s Western food or Cantonese food,” the chef tells CNN. You’ve probably been playing with glutamate, inosinate and guanylate in your own cooking without even realizing it. We season our food with MSG a little bit – it’s different from heating water and adding MSG and serving it with noodles,” he says. “Our mission from the very beginning was to show people what Cantonese food is and what Cantonese food can be – it’s always going to be playful, fun and approachable,” says Eng.
In a recent TikTok post, the 52-year-old spoke about how she was militant about not spending money she didn't have. Frankel earned just $7,250 for her star-making turn on the first season of "The Real Housewives of New York." "My apartment was furnished by Ikea when I was on the 'Housewives of New York,'" she said. In the years following her "Housewives" debut, Frankel started and sold her Skinnygirl Cocktails brand for a reported $100 million. "I was always terrified, because you don't spend money you don't f---ing have."
CNN —Jamie Foxx was hospitalized weeks ago but there’s still not much publicly known. Anyone who has followed Jamie Foxx’s career closely, however, shouldn’t be surprised by that. There has been practically no information released other than his family initially asking for privacy and a post last week on Foxx’s verified social media account. Foxx and Holmes reportedly split in 2019. So the silence surrounding Foxx’s “medical complication,” to use his family’s words initially, seems in keeping with how the performer conducts himself.
On May 9, 1961, he addressed the National Association of Broadcasters convention and had some stark criticism for television executives. "When television is good, nothing - not the theater, not the magazines or newspapers - nothing is better," Minow said. "I can assure you that what you will observe is a vast wasteland," he said. The speech draft had referred to a "vast wasteland of junk" but Minow excised "of junk" so as not to offend his audience too deeply. Minow headed the FCC for two years and in 1965 became a partner at the Chicago law firm of Sidley Austin.
‘Fatal Attraction’ Review: Here’s Why She Did It
  + stars: | 2023-04-26 | by ( Mike Hale | ) www.nytimes.com   time to read: +3 min
So Alexandra Cunningham (“Dirty John,” “Desperate Housewives”) and Kevin J. Hynes (“Perry Mason”), working with the film’s writer, James Dearden, have reimagined “Fatal Attraction” in myriad ways, none of which are erotic and few of which are thrilling. Dan is up for parole because in this new universe, he has served 15 years for the murder of his stalker, Alex Forrest (Lizzy Caplan). The temporal shifts also serve to educate both Dan and the audience about the noxious privilege and entitlement that precipitated his downfall. But apparently converting “Fatal Attraction” into a reasonably diverting crime drama wasn’t enough to remove the stain of the original. Ellen’s research leads her to reassess the behavior of her father’s murdered nemesis, and the greatest labor this “Fatal Attraction” takes on is its effort to turn Alex into an understandable, even sympathetic, character.
Scrolling through a list of cultural influences on her phone in the bar of a New York hotel, Ware debated what to include. 1Photo BoothsI’m constantly trying to make my phone take pictures that look old and romantic, and the photo booth just does that. What I’ve just started doing is taking selfies of myself, but pretending that I’m being caught off guard so that I can get really good photos with my children. 2‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’It’s dirty and naughty and I probably should be doing something else, but I’m there, invested in the Kathy and Kyle drama. It’s so good for being able to work out your route for the day, like, I’m going to go to this coffee shop, then I’m going to go to the famous cemetery in Buenos Aires, and then I’m going to walk from there.

In an era prone to pop psychology, here lies “Renfield” on the therapist’s couch. Now, Renfield ( Nicholas Hoult ) is a co-dependent in a toxic relationship with a narcissist—that’s his master, Dracula. Not to be outdone, the vampire ( Nicolas Cage ) weaponizes the lingo of martyrdom as sharpened in feuds on “The Real Housewives.” “I’m the real victim here!” he snarls. Renfield joins a support group, brandishes a self-help book like a protective crucifix and, during a makeover montage, swaps his gothic rags for khakis. Do we believe for one second that a mass murderer would frame an inspirational poster that reads “YOLO”?
The reality TV alumna, who later founded the Skinnygirl lifestyle brand and became a self-made millionaire entrepreneur, agreed to a payment of just $7,250 for the hit Bravo TV show's first season, she said in a recent Instagram Reel. But she didn't let the network take a percentage of anything she made on her own, a move that "changed my entire life," she added. Frankel crossed out that section of the contract, and Bravo agreed to her terms, she said. A year later, Frankel founded Skinnygirl, which was initially built around selling pre-packaged, low-calorie margaritas. Shortly after, Frankel sold Skinnygirl Cocktails to Beam Global for an estimated $100 million dollars, keeping the rights to the "Skinnygirl" name.
Eva Longoria has spent over 20 years in Hollywood and can finally add "movie director" to her credits. Longoria said during an interview earlier in the day that she never thought she'd direct a feature until this story came across her desk — and she beat out other big-name directors for the shot. The "Desperate Housewives" star began directing for TV in 2014 and helmed episodes of "Black-ish," "Why Women Kill," "The Gordita Chronicles" and more. "There's a lot of systemic sexism that still exists behind the camera for female directors. People always wonder why there aren't more female directors.

Ally Capriotti Grant is a casting director who worked on "Queer Eye" for five seasons. Then her team looks for someone who is open, honest, and ready for help from the hosts of the show. I started working on "Queer Eye" in December 2016 and worked there through season five, which aired in June 2020. I love that "Queer Eye" celebrates what makes us different. What is the city known for in general?"
Chicago prosecutors alleged that Girardi misappropriated more than $3 million in client funds owed to families of the victims of the 2018 Boeing (BA.N) 737 MAX Lion Air Flight 610 crash in Indonesia. Christopher Kamon, the former chief financial officer of Girardi's now-defunct law firm Girardi Keese, was also charged in the Chicago and Los Angeles cases. Girardi's son-in-law, David Lira, who worked at the firm, was charged with wire fraud and criminal contempt of court by the Chicago prosecutors. The California Supreme Court disbarred Girardi in June in connection with his alleged conduct in the Lion Air case. Kamon was separately charged with wire fraud in November for allegedly embezzling $10 million from the defunct Girardi Keese firm.

Proud Boys are urged to sing a Broadway show tune at meetings, a new court document reveals. The song is "Proud of Your Boy," a weepy ode to making mom proud by the title character in "Aladdin." The anthem is 'Proud of Your Boy," an emotional ode to winning mom's approval from the hit musical, "Aladdin." "Do the 'Proud Boys' know their anthem was written by a gay Jew?" The Southern Poverty Law Center, which calls the Proud Boys a violent, right-wing hate group, has also noted that the song "Proud of Your Boy" inspired the group's name.
It's too 'politically incorrect' for the jury, says a lawyer for defendant Dominic Pezzola. Read the "how to run a Proud Boys meeting" manual here. The Anti Defamation League considers the Proud Boys a violent, right-wing extremist group whose members commonly engage in misogynistic, Islamaphobic, transphobic, and anti-immigration rhetoric. An excerpt from a Proud Boys defense motion filed January 23, 2023 in US District Court in Washington, DC. At that point the Proud Boys members are to shout, "Bring it on!"
