No one behind in the national polls by as much as Haley at this point in the primary calendar has ever ended up winning the nomination. A late October Des Moines Register poll had Trump at 43% to Haley and DeSantis each at 16% in Iowa. They both went on to win Iowa. Haley, however, doesn’t need to win Iowa to secure the GOP nomination. Hart’s overperformance in Iowa was a big reason he went to win the New Hampshire primary in 1984.

On the Democratic side, Barack Obama won the Iowa caucuses in 2008 and went on to win the White House. And Trump, although he’s the favorite in pre-caucus polling this year, lost the Iowa caucuses in 2016 to Cruz. Weren’t there some problems with the Iowa caucuses? This is the first time since 1972 that the Iowa caucuses will not be the first event on Democrats’ presidential nomination calendar. (AP) — Star Memphis basketball recruit Mikey Williams pleaded guilty to one felony charge in a gun case on Thursday, and one of his attorneys said he does not expect the 19-year-old to face jail time. In a deal with prosecutors, Williams pleaded guilty to one felony count of making a criminal threat and to a special allegation of using a firearm during the threat, attorney Randy M. Grossman said. Although a judge would have the discretion to sentence Williams to a year in jail, “no custody is contemplated,” the attorney said. “Nobody was injured in this case, nobody testified that anybody saw Mikey actually fire the gun and he didn’t admit he was the one who fired the gun,” Grossman said. “He admitted responsibility and pleaded guilty.

The 363 Oxford Street address hosted the very first HMV store in 1921, opened by composer Edward Elgar, and was central to the development of British popular music and culture. "We feel really good on the future of physical stores for retail," Putman told Reuters in an interview. The store will sell 8,000 different vinyl albums, 12,000 CDs, music merchandise and a wide range of music technology. HMV says its vinyl sales are significantly ahead of UK annual market growth of 18%, and account for half its physical music sales.
