Nike recently signed a 12-year deal with the NBA, WNBA, and NBA G League. AdvertisementNike is deepening its partnerships with the NBA and WNBA as basketball explodes in popularity in 2024. That's good news for the company as it tries to get back to its sports roots and reinvigorate sales — and as women's basketball becomes increasingly popular. The sportswear giant announced in October that it signed a 12-year agreement with the NBA, WNBA, and NBA G League to be the exclusive uniform and apparel provider for each league. While Nike started as a running brand, its business has historically been linked with basketball after a 1984 collaboration with Michael Jordan.

The Chinese military has increased its provocative flights around Taiwan by 300% over the last five months, according to the commander of the U.S. Air Forces in the Indo-Pacific Command. In an exclusive interview with NBC News, Gen. Kevin Schneider warned that People’s Liberation Air Force activities have increased dramatically since Taiwan’s new president was inaugurated in May. Schneider noted that the Chinese Air Force has maintained the increased activity level since Lai Ching-te was sworn in on May 20. Chinese President Xi Jinping has said that he intends to unify Taiwan with mainland China and has steadily ramped up military pressure on democratically governed Taiwan. Trump has not committed to defending Taiwan during a Chinese military invasion.

Overall, the upgraded train experience was well worth the extra money. But those perks don't come cheap: Eurostar Premier ticket costs for this route are over $319 per person one-way at the time of writing. That's far more expensive than the mid-tier Eurostar Plus class we traveled in, which can start at about $91 one-way. Upgrading to Eurostar Plus really enhanced our trip for a reasonable cost. Our train ride felt more like a travel experience than just a mode of transportation to get us from point A to B.

SEOUL, South Korea — North Korea on Tuesday fired multiple short-range ballistic missiles toward its eastern sea, the South Korean military said, as the country continued its weapons demonstrations hours before the U.S. presidential election. South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said the missiles flew about 250 miles but did not specify how many were fired. The launches came days after North Korean leader Kim Jong Un supervised a flight test of the country’s newest intercontinental ballistic missile designed to reach the U.S. mainland. South Korea’s military intelligence agency said last week that North Korea has also most likely completed preparations for its seventh nuclear test. Experts say North Korea has yet to acquire some critical technologies to build a functioning ICBM, such as ensuring that the warhead survives the harsh conditions of atmospheric re-entry.

BEIJING — Chinese home appliance company Hisense aims to become the No. 1 seller of television sets in the U.S. in about two years, Catherine Fang, president of Hisense International, told CNBC in an exclusive interview Monday. FIFA President Gianni Infantino, FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström, and Hisense Group Chairman Jia Shaoqian attended an event in Shanghai on Oct. 30 to mark the partnership.
