Major public health groups, including the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, support the use of fluoridated water. “Drinking fluoridated water keeps teeth strong and reduces cavities,” the CDC said in a statement to NBC News. Within the past few months, local leaders in Collier County, Florida, and Amery, Wisconsin, voted to stop adding fluoride to public water systems. As of this year, nearly two-thirds of the U.S. population with public water access use drinking water with fluoride, according to the CDC. “If they didn’t get fluoridated water, they’d be more likely to get cavities.”The science behind fluorideThe fluoride issue goes well beyond medical freedom.

I tried Chili's Big Smasher burger, the chain's first new burger in three years. AdvertisementChili's just came out with its first new burger in three years in the hopes of competing with fast-food chains like McDonald's. The burger, which launched on April 29, has similar ingredients to a Big Mac but twice the meat. I tried the burger for the first time at Chili's headquarters in Dallas a few weeks before its official launch. Here's what I thought of Chili's new Big Smasher burger.

The one person we know of so far who has tested positive for infection (a mild case) was a Texas dairy worker. Agricultural workers have always been an underprotected population for zoonotic diseases, including influenza viruses of animal origin. So far, bird flu testing of this cohort has been woefully inadequate. The exact number of dairy workers and other people who have so far been tested for H5N1 is not publicly available at the federal level. There is no excuse to continue only limited testing of this vulnerable population.

As fast-food prices increase, customers are finding more value in chain restaurants. Chains like Chili's are rolling out deals and portion sizes that could best fast-food chains. Chili's new Big Smasher burger is the latest offensive move in the value wars. The Big Smasher burger, Chili's newest menu item, was served in the company's test kitchen before its official launch on April 29. And if the sheer size and taste of the Chili's burger are anything to go by, it has a shot at beating fast-food chains in the value wars.

I tried popular menu items from Franklin Barbecue in Austin and Terry Black's in Dallas. Franklin Barbecue impressed me with its juicy, tender brisket. Terry Black's sold out of brisket, but its variety of tasty sides made it my preferred spot. Here's how the two experiences compared, and which barbecue spot my mouth is still watering for.

Dear Work It Out, I work in an office where the same floor is shared by multiple teams that don't work together, but work for the same parent company. There are a few people whose voices carry all the time, and occasionally a group of them will congregate in an open area not far from my desk for what seem like impromptu team meetings or snacks. Since I don't know most of them, it feels like asking them to quiet down would seem like scolding from an unrelated party, but it really disrupts my work. Still, it's important to remember that you are at work to work, and if your environment hinders your productivity, that's something you — and your company — should care about. I've been having a hard time taking client calls when your team talks openly in the office near my desk.

The series is based on the book "Sex and the City" by Candace Bushnell, who said she was paid a paltry sum for the screen rights in the 1990s. JIMI CELESTE/Patrick McMullan/Getty ImagesThe "Sex and the City" book, similar to one of the plotlines in the television series, was made up of Bushnell's New York Observer columns, which ran between 1994 and 1996. Bushnell wrote about her own dating life in New York City, and she interviewed other people about their own sex lives and misadventures. When an agreement was made between show creator Darren Star and Bushnell, the author was paid $100,000 for the screen rights to "Sex and the City," she told The Sunday Times in February.

At 11:40 p.m. on April 14, an iceberg was spotted 400 nautical miles south of Newfoundland, Canada, but it was too late for the ship to change course. Universal History Archive/Getty ImagesThe two lookouts, Fredrick Fleet and Reginald Lee, failed to spot the iceberg in time. Their binoculars were also locked in a cabinet, which meant the lookouts were tasked with spotting icebergs using their eyes alone. The Titanic attempted to avoid the iceberg, but it failed to turn in time. As the ship scraped the iceberg, it tore a hole in the side of the ship, rupturing at least five of the watertight compartments.
