Voters in Ohio will decide on enshrining abortion rights in the state constitution, as well as legalizing recreational marijuana use. Will voters in Ohio back abortion rights? Even in deeply Republican states like Kansas, voters have overwhelmingly supported abortion access. Beyond abortion, the most watched initiative will be, again, in Ohio, where voters will decide whether cannabis should be legalized for recreational use. If voters agree, Ohio would become the 24th state to legalize marijuana.

Off-year elections held Tuesday will decide governors in Kentucky and Mississippi, the fate of abortion and marijuana amendments in Ohio, legislative control in Virginia and mayoral races in two of the nation's biggest cities. Ohio is the only state to consider a statewide abortion rights question this year. Voters there will decide whether to pass a constitutional amendment guaranteeing an individual right to abortion and other forms of reproductive health care. CNN —Abortion rights are on the ballot Tuesday as Americans head to the polls for state and local races that will set the stage for next year’s presidential election. (Both oppose abortion rights.) Abortion (literally) on the ballot in OhioThe 2022 midterm elections showed that when abortion rights are on the ballot, voters overwhelmingly favored protecting or expanding access. This is the only abortion rights ballot initiative before voters this year. Though not explicitly on the ballot, abortion has featured prominently in the campaign, with Beshear arguing that Cameron will double down on the commonwealth’s already harsh restrictions.

The Heart of ‘Priscilla’ Is for Sale

It is curious how some things never go out of style. Throughout the first act of the new movie “Priscilla,” when the titular heroine is still living in Germany with her parents, she wears one thing almost every day: a heart-shaped locket tied around her neck on a black ribbon. Then, as she is courted by Elvis Presley, the necklace reflects her infatuation: She argues with her parents about him, doodles his name and writes him letters, waits for him to call. In 1960, at age 14, Priscilla Presley wore it in a photograph while clutching an Elvis record. In her memoir, “Elvis and Me,” the basis for Sofia Coppola’s movie, Ms. Presley wrote of a gold locket that she cherished, originally given to her mother by her deceased biological father.

Cailee Spaeny (who is 25 years old but proves capable of looking half her age) is a wonderful find as the ordinary Texas-reared schoolgirl who, while her dad was stationed at the U.S. military base in Wiesbaden, West Germany, was introduced at 14 to Elvis by a friend of his who approached her in a restaurant, then brought her to a party at Pvt. Other companies including Ascendly Marketing are using generative AI imaging tools that combine pictures of public figures with products.
