CNN —Pressure is building on President Joe Biden, including from within his own party, to loosen the restrictions on Ukraine’s use of US-provided weapons to strike deep inside Russia. On Tuesday, the bipartisan congressional Ukraine caucus called on Biden to allow Ukraine to strike targets inside Russia with the long-range weapons. A group of key House Republican also urged Biden to ease the restrictions in a letter on Monday. On Tuesday, asked if the US will lift the restrictions, Biden answered, “we’re working that out right now.”Two US officials later told CNN that the Biden administration is not anticipating any policy changes when it comes to lifting restrictions. A federal judge issued an injunction Tuesday partially blocking the enforcement of a New Hampshire law that bars some transgender students from competing on school sports teams that align with their gender identity. Last month, two transgender teenage girls and their families sued New Hampshire education officials, arguing that the measure violates Title IX civil rights rules, which prevent sex discrimination in federally funded education programs and activities. The Biden administration expanded Title IX rules in April to include protections for students on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity. Moreover, the expansion of the Title IX rules is temporarily blocked in at least 10 states and faces ongoing court challenges in roughly 10 others. Colorado wildlife officials said Monday that they captured and plan to relocate five members of the first pack of wolves to form under the state’s ambitious wolf reintroduction program. That wolf had been involved in repeated attacks on livestock and officials said it would have been kept in captivity if it survived. The pack formed after 10 of the predators from Oregon were released in December over bitter opposition from livestock groups. Ranching groups wanted the wolf pack killed. They said relocating pups risks their survival and wanted more done to keep the pack from killing livestock, such as using electric fencing that can better deter attacks.
