Rudy Giuliani (C) arrives at the New York court following a judge's order compelling his appearance in the defamation case filed by Georgia election workers in New York, United States on November 07, 2024. Our NFL writers addressed these topics and more in making one prediction for every team heading into the season’s second half. The fourth-year back is on pace to finish with 1,256 yards, which would be the fourth-highest total in team history. Every other NFL team has put a player in at least one of those categories during that stretch — and most teams have checked both boxes. Minnesota has one of the most productive defenses in the NFL and an offense loaded at the skill positions. And the Eagles have managed to win games despite bad luck and bad decisions.

Republicans have averted a potential disaster in Nebraska, with NBC News projecting that Sen. Deb Fischer has won re-election to a third term. Fischer faced a surprisingly competitive challenge from independent Dan Osborn, a mechanic and union leader who cast her as a creature of Washington. Fischer's win gives the Republicans 51 Senate seats, putting them over the threshold needed for control of the chamber, NBC News projects. But it has been nearly 20 years since the state elected a Democrat to the Senate, and Republicans typically carry statewide races with ease. Fischer was elected to the Senate in 2012 in a resounding victory over Democratic former Sen. Bob Kerrey, who had also been governor.

Hoax bomb threats targeting polling places and election offices briefly disrupted voting in five battleground states, with the FBI saying the threats in four of those states came from Russian email domains. “The FBI is aware of bomb threats to polling locations in several states, many of which appear to originate from Russian email domains,” the FBI said in a statement Tuesday night. German officials accused Russia of orchestrating bomb threats against several polling places in Moldova’s presidential elections last week. Threats to polling sites and election offices were reported across about a dozen Pennsylvania counties, where targeted polling sites were ordered to stay open late, officials said. “But I think the number of these bomb threats is, if not surprising, very concerning,” he added.

Republicans are projected to retake the majority in the US Senate. AdvertisementRepublicans are projected to regain control of the US Senate after winning seats in West Virginia and Ohio, according to Fox News and the Associated Press, ending four years of Democratic control. Republicans also appeared likely to win a 52nd seat in Montana, where Sen. Jon Tester trailed the GOP candidate Tim Sheehy. Despite dramatically outraising Republicans in many of this year's tightest Senate races, Democrats faced a punishing map and were primarily on defense. Democrats' best pick-up opportunity in the Senate was in Texas, where Republican Sen. Ted Cruz ultimately survived a tougher-than-expected challenge from Rep. Colin Allred.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., attends a news conference after a lunch meeting with Senate Republicans on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., on Feb. 1, 2022. Republicans are expected to regain majority control of the U.S. Senate in 2025, according to NBC News. Democrats entered Tuesday's elections with 47 seats out of 100 in the Senate. But the four independents in the chamber caucus with Democrats, giving the party a one-seat majority. Republicans arguably faced an easier path to regaining a Senate majority this election cycle, and are set to have at least 51 seats in the chamber in January, when members of Congress are sworn in.

A possible Trump victory could spell massive gains for Tesla over the coming months, according to Wedbush Securities' Dan Ives. The analyst thinks the electric vehicle maker can pass the $1 trillion market cap threshold if the Republican nominee comes out on top in the U.S. presidential election. "This could ultimately add $40 to $50 per share to Tesla's stock right off the bat, and we could now be talking about a $1 trillion [or] $1.5 trillion market cap for Tesla." Tesla, which is up just 1% for the year, has a market cap of $807.1 billion through Tuesday's close. "Ultimately, I think Tesla is the most undervalued AI name in the market," he also said.
