CNN —Colombian Football Federation president Ramón Jesurún was arrested at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, after Argentina beat Colombia at the Copa América final Sunday. The federation president’s 43-year-old son, Ramón Jamil Jesurún, was arrested on the same battery charges plus one misdemeanor battery charge, in the same altercation, according to another arrest report. Neither the Colombian Football Federation nor CONMEBOL has responded to CNN’s request for more information on the Jesurúns’ arrests. Over 800 law enforcement officers from multiple local agencies were on hand at the stadium, MDPD said in its statement. Hard Rock Stadium will host seven matches in the tournament.

It could help former President Donald Trump's hush-money conviction survive the US Supreme Court immunity opinion. Trump's lawyers are about to file what's known as a 330.30 motion to set aside the verdict. The Supreme Court presidential immunity opinion bars official-act evidence. US Supreme Court/BITrump's lawyers now say there were at least four times that the judge improperly let Manhattan prosecutors show official-act evidence to the jury. Trump's hush-money conviction appeal will take years and could even lead back to the US Supreme Court.

CNN —In CNN’s presidential debate, President Joe Biden was halting and, at times, trailed off and confused words, feeding a nagging narrative about his fitness for the presidency. Trump said Biden couldn’t drive a golf ball 50 yards, and Biden challenged Trump to a golf match but only if Trump carries his own clubs. We’ve got to take a look at what I was left when I became president, what Mr. Trump left me. -TrumpBiden said Trump deserves blame for watching the riot at the Capitol unfold for hours without doing anything to intervene. They’ve had meetings and they voted who’s the worst president in American history.

So it would be an oversimplification to say that Republicans moved more MAGA and Democrats moved more moderate based on these two unrelated races. Former President Donald Trump personifies MAGA, and a large part of the Make America Great Again ethos he pushes is loyalty to him. Utah went its own wayWhile Boebert’s victory provides a foil for Bowman’s loss, it was far from a perfect night for more MAGA Republicans. Trump, however, cannot discuss any prosecutor, court staffer or their family members, according to a court order on Tuesday from Judge Juan Merchan that rolls back parts of the gag order imposed before the trial began. That aspect of the gag order remains in effect at least until his sentencing, which is set for July 11. Trump spokesperson Steven Cheung said in a statement that Merchan’s order “leaves in place portions of the unconstitutional gag order” and that Trump plans to appeal the ruling. Trump repeatedly complained about the gag order throughout the seven-week trial, arguing that witnesses, including Cohen, were taking advantage of the gag order to attack him when he couldn’t respond. In the filing, the Manhattan district attorney’s office said it did not oppose lifting the portion of the gag order that blocked Trump from making statements about witnesses.

A New York judge on Tuesday lifted parts of a gag order imposed on former President Donald Trump in his criminal hush money case, but kept some restrictions in place until Trump is sentenced. While he lifted that piece of the gag order, the judge ruled that a prohibition on disclosing juror information will remain in effect until further notice. Trump raged against the gag order when it was first imposed on March 26, about three weeks before the trial began. Trump violated the gag order 10 times during the historic trial. Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung in a statement Tuesday criticized Merchan for declining to lift the entire gag order.

That sent lower courts scurrying into historical analyses to figure out if modern gun laws had some connection to the 18th Century. Roberts’ opinion said that lower courts were misunderstanding what the majority had said in that ruling. But Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, a member of the court’s liberal wing, suggested it was the high court’s fault for not providing clarity for lower courts to follow. One deals with a Pennsylvania man’s challenge to a federal law prohibiting felons, including those who are non-violent, from possessing firearms. Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar presented that argument with an eye toward several other challenges pending to similar federal gun prohibitions that involve non-violent criminal activity.

CNN —New York’s highest court has declined to hear Donald Trump’s appeal on the gag order in his hush money case, according to a decision list posted Tuesday. The gag order, issued by Judge Juan Merchan in the criminal case against Trump, remains in effect. Separately, Trump has asked Merchan to terminate the gag order ahead of his sentencing scheduled for July. Once that motion is filed, the court will again make a decision on whether to hear the case. If the Court of Appeals did find the gag order unconstitutional, Trump’s attorneys wrote it would “undermine the justification” for the fines Trump received for his violations.

New York's highest court on Tuesday dismissed former President Donald Trump's appeal of the gag order in his criminal hush money trial. The New York Court of Appeals in a brief decision declined to hear Trump's bid "upon the ground that no substantial constitutional question is directly involved." The decision means Trump's gag order, which bars him from speaking about jurors, witnesses and other parties involved in the Manhattan Supreme Court case, remains in effect. Trump's attorneys asked Judge Juan Merchan, who presided over the trial, to terminate the gag order because the trial is over. The Trump campaign and the lawyer who filed the gag order appeal to the state's top court did not immediately respond to CNBC's requests for comment.
