Constellation Brands on Thursday reported earnings and revenue that topped analysts' expectations for its fiscal second quarter of 2024. The Mexican beer powerhouse, owner of the Modelo Especial and Corona Extra brands, reported double-digit sales growth in its beer business as the division continues to dominate the overall beer and high-end categories. The Modelo brand family was a particular bright spot: Modelo Especial grew nearly 9%, while Modelo Chelada brands posted growth of more than 40%. The company's wine and spirits brands, however, underperformed year over year. In its previous quarter, beer sales rose 11% year over year driven by stable consumer demand and higher pricing.

REUTERS/Lucy Nicholson/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsOct 5 (Reuters) - Constellation Brands (STZ.N) raised its annual profit target on Thursday after higher prices and strong demand for its beers and spirits drove a sales and profit beat in the second quarter. Alcohol producers such as Constellation and peer Brown-Forman (BFb.N) have benefited from increasing prices, helping offset steeper raw material costs. Constellation also raised the annual sales forecast for its beer business. Constellation now expects fiscal 2024 comparable earnings per share between $12.00 and $12.20, as against its previous forecast of profit between $11.70 and $12.00 per share.

In a Thursday interview with CNBC's Jim Cramer, Constellation Brands CEO Bill Newlands highlighted the past quarter's success in its beer brands and said the company has been shifting its focus from mainstream to higher-end brands. Constellation reported earnings Thursday, with its beer portfolio seeing double-digit sales growth. Newlands chalked up some of this underperformance to the mainstream brands in its spirits and wine business. Additionally, Constellation's earnings report showed that and its higher-end wine and liquor brands — like Meiomi and Kim Crawford wine brands — outperformed the rest of the group. "Today it's one-third, and even though that area continues to drag on the overall business, the top end of our wine business is doing quite well and taking share."

Lots of Wall Street firms are getting out ahead of this week's earnings from Constellation Brands (STZ) with price target increases. At the time, we were optimistic and increased our price target on the Modelo and Corona maker to $270 per share from $260. When measuring beer growth, he assesses how much shelf space companies get every year and how quickly those products fly off the shelves. All these factors "drive solid beer growth even as the macro environment gets worse," Falorni said. Wedbush also thinks Constellation will be able to weather those macro consumer storms and continue to drive earnings and revenue growth.

After the September meeting pause last week, the target range for the fed funds rate remained at 5.25% to 5.50%. First, I don't know a soul besides me who agrees with that 20-year versus fed funds rate yield prognosis. They think the fed funds rate will come down or the 20-year yield is already extended. Second, I don't know anyone else who believes the economy is so strong that the Fed is correct to keep on an anti-inflation course. I don't think so.

The rise of new anti-obesity medications could result in less alcohol consumption, impacting Club name Constellation Brands (STZ). The risk already seems to be playing out in food stocks with exposure to snacks and junk food. We don't think Constellation Brands stock will suffer the same fate as shares of leading snack food companies like J.M. Forecasting solar storms is especially difficult right now, even as the sun is getting more active. CMEs fling charged, super-hot plasma into space, and sometimes — like in the case of this CME — that plasma strikes Earth. On the bright side, these solar storms also make stunning displays of the Northern Lights, or aurora borealis, visible in the middle of the US. On a different day, all of these effects combined could have created a very violent solar storm. In the worst-case scenario, which is very rare, all the conditions align to send a very fast and very powerful solar storm to Earth.

The reason for this brilliant display is the sun, which shot a giant eruption of charged particles toward Earth on Sunday. The colorful Northern Lights, or aurora borealis, appear when electrically charged particles from the sun interact with molecules in Earth's atmosphere. Northern Lights may appear unusually far southTypically these dazzling green, red, pink, and purple lights only appear around the Arctic Circle, or around the South Pole (there it's called the aurora australis). That's because our planet's magnetic field lines channel the steady stream of particles, called the "solar wind," to the poles. The rocket left a trail of smoke and fire as scientists clapped, a live broadcast on the Indian Space Research Organisation's (ISRO) website showed. While Russia had a more powerful rocket, India's Chandrayaan-3 out-endured the Luna-25 to execute a textbook landing. Prime Minister Modi is pushing for India's space missions to play a larger role on a world stage dominated by the United States and China. Satellites in low earth orbit are the main focus of global private players, which makes the Aditya-L1 mission a very important project," he said.

More than 888,000 spectators attended the U.S. Open last year, and at least that many are expected this year at an event that is in some ways an annual contrast of culture and class. REUTERS/Amit Dave Acquire Licensing RightsBENGALURU, Aug 25 (Reuters) - On the heels of the success of the Chandrayaan-3 moon landing, India's space agency has set a date for its next mission - this time to study the sun. It aims to study solar winds, which can cause disturbance on earth and are commonly seen as "auroras". In 2019, the government sanctioned the equivalent of about $46 million for the Aditya-L1 mission. The Indian space agency has earned a reputation for world-beating cost competitiveness in space engineering that executives and planners expect will boost its now-privatised space industry. The Chandrayaan-3 mission, which landed a spacecraft on the lunar south pole, had a budget of about $75 million.

CNN —The Solar Orbiter mission has discovered jets of material rapidly releasing from the sun’s outer atmosphere. An artist's concept shows the Solar Orbiter spacecraft circling the sun. The advanced instruments aboard Solar Orbiter, as well as NASA’s Parker Solar Probe, are helping to unlock the biggest mysteries that remain about the sun. The sun’s magnetic field is so massive that it stretches beyond Pluto, providing a pathway for solar wind to travel directly across the solar system. Solar Orbiter works in tandem with Parker Solar Probe, which is orbiting the sun on a seven-year mission after launching in August 2018.
