(AP) — The University of North Carolina graduate student charged with fatally shooting his faculty adviser has been found unfit for trial after two mental evaluations, a judge ruled Monday. Tailei Qi, 34, is accused of killing associate professor Zijie Yan in a science building at the state’s flagship public university on Aug. 28. He is being held without bond on charges of first-degree murder and misdemeanor possession of a firearm on educational property. Orange County Superior Court Judge Alyson Grine said Monday that two separate mental evaluations found Qi likely suffers from untreated schizophrenia. An autopsy released earlier this month showed that Yan had been shot multiple times in his office in Caudill Labs.

CNN —Celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton has filed for divorce from “White Lotus” and “Euphoria” actor Lukas Gage after six months of marriage. Appleton cited “irreconcilable differences” as grounds for divorce, according to the petition that was filed in Los Angeles on Monday and obtained by CNN. CNN has reached out to representatives for Appleton and Gage for comment. The estranged couple wed in April in Las Vegas, with Appleton’s long-time client Kim Kardashian officiating the ceremony and country star Shania Twain serenading the then-newlyweds. The photos they posted showcased Gage and Appleton posing with Kardashian in front of the iconic wrought iron gates of Las Vegas’s Little White Chapel, and another photo showing Kardashian officiating the ceremony.

NEW YORK (AP) — He was a giant of 20th-century art, but that doesn’t mean Pablo Picasso needed a big canvas. It was 1918 and Picasso, then in his mid-30s, had just married ballet dancer Olga Khokhlova. The exhibit, which opened Friday, is a collaboration with the Madrid foundation run by a grandson of Picasso’s, Bernard Ruiz-Picasso. It comes nearly 40 years after the gallery’s initial 1986 show of Picasso sketchbooks, called “Je Suis le Cahier (I am the Sketchbook)" after a notation Picasso made on one of his pads — which subsequently toured the globe.
