CNBC's Jim Cramer on Tuesday suggested that sellers have been conspicuously absent on Wall Street, even as the market faces economic trends may have brought them out in years past. "Last year, we would've had sellers coming out of the woodwork," he said. "Now, though, I think the short-sellers have been obliterated, and almost everyone who wants to sell seems to have already gotten out. Cramer added that the artificial intelligence craze has not played out as many on Wall Street thought it would. "I know Big Tech was down today, but I think they're just taking a breather after an unsustainably parabolic move."

A truly great dip can create a high-stakes spectacle, one that separates the seasoned players from the rookies. There are the furtive double-dippers, the overloading chip-breakers, the celery-nibbling dip snubbers and by the fourth quarter you’re bound to see someone fumble dip onto the table, the rug or their shirts. So what’s the best dip for a Super Bowl party? My ideal dip would be something thick and creamy enough to cling to your chip but not so gluey it sticks to your teeth (or the rug). Hot and oozing is nice, especially in February, and I’m partial to bubbling, melty dips with sweeping cheese pulls.

By societal standards, Winter was living a fulfilling life as a mother, career woman, and wife — and someone who almost always followed rules. I didn't do anything that had dire consequences, but I think I needed that," Winter, the author of "More: A Memoir of Open Marriage," told Business Insider. AdvertisementNow with 15 years of an open marriage under her belt, Winter's memoir chronicles her trial-and-error approach to creating the marriage and life she desired. Winter vowing to 'do dumb shit' catapulted her into an open marriageIn making her list, Winter learned how openness in a relationship is often about more than sex. Winter told BI that having sex outside her 24-year marriage over the years has also helped her feel more at peace with her life as a mother and wife.

CNBC's Jim Cramer examined Tuesday's "wild" market action, saying it may be best to wait before making any big decisions. "There's just too much noise here, let's just wait and see," he said. Cramer said Tuesday marked a reversal, with previously booming Big Tech stocks taking a hit while stocks outside the sector — like banks, steel makers and automakers — saw gains. "Are these all island reversals that are just too difficult to overcome, where the stocks open up big and then plummeted?" "Or is tech taking a breather until some of that juicy money from the sidelines takes advantage of the first price break of 2024?"

Microsoft reported strong fiscal second-quarter results Tuesday, boosted by the strength of AI. Cloud unit Azure was better than expected thanks to organizations running AI applications on its cloud. That's double from last quarter as Azure AI customers grew to 53,000 from more than 18,000 last quarter. What's fascinating about Azure AI is that over one-third of its customers are completely new to Azure, according to Microsoft, highlighting the importance every organization has in understanding its AI strategy. Microsoft guided Productivity and Business Processes revenues to $19.3 billion to $19.6 billion, ahead of the consensus of $19.45 billion.

Several chart analysts are worried stocks are showing signs of exhaustion after their recent rally. Even there, however, we started to see some cracks last week as upside exhaustion also showed itself," Krinsky added. JC O'Hara, chief market technician at Roth MKM, wrote: "This persistence of gains is rare, and we are seeing signs that leadership is feeling exhaustion." However, when we view the chart, we find early signs of bullish exhaustion," O'Hara wrote. "From a trading basis, lethargic internal behavior suggests the bull cycle is due for a breather," Wald wrote on Saturday.

What’s a grocery upgrade? bhofack2/iStockphoto/Getty ImagesI consider a grocery upgrade to be a small splurge, not a big investment. Here are some examples of how I upgrade my grocery list when I need a pick-me-up. It’s my least favorite winter task, so I choose to reward myself with a grocery upgrade for getting the job done. Canned clams are a pantry staple for me as well since I love to keep them on hand for a quick dinner of one-pot clam pasta and clam chowder.

Lerner noted that such occurrences are correlated with near-term pain as well as sizable forward returns. Apple became the world's largest smartphone maker in 2023 for the first time ever. Despite a rough start to 2024, we think the company can build on this momentum in the U.S. and China. Apple's frontrunner status was confirmed in separate industry research reports from International Data Corporation (IDC) on Monday and Canalys on Tuesday. To be sure, Apple's iPhone is facing intensified competition in China as domestic players like Huawei and Xiaomi have started offering high-end alternatives. It was a great year for the stock market and for the vast majority of investors in workplace retirement accounts. Even after the 2023 gains, most stock investors are only barely above water since the start of 2022. Even so, the paltry stock market increases haven’t kept up with inflation. It was arguably even worse than 2008, when the stock market collapsed during the great financial crisis. In 2022, bonds declined sharply in value as interest rates rose, while during the financial crisis, investment-grade bonds rallied as interest rates declined.

Investors are watching the S & P 500 after it rallied back toward the key 4,600 level to see if it can break out to new all-time highs. A record high in the S & P 500 looks promising after the broader index on Friday closed at 4,594.63, or its best level since March 2022. In July, the last time the S & P 500 tested the threshold, the rally was led by mega-cap tech stocks. On Monday, the market rally took a breather; the S & P 500 ended the session lower by 0.5%, and it stood about 5% below its record. In fact, one market technician on Monday said the S & P 500 could plunge back to its bear market lows in 2024.

A close above 4,796.56 on the S&P 500 would confirm that the index has been in a bull market since bottoming out on Oct. 12, 2022, by one commonly used definition. By that definition, the bear market that began when the S&P 500 hit its previous record on Jan. 3, 2022 was not particularly painful. The S&P 500 closed down 25.4% at its lowest point, making this the fourth shallowest bear market experienced by the index since 1928, according to data from Yardeni Research. Over the last 50 years, the S&P 500 has risen an average of 16% in the three-month period leading up to a bull market. By contrast, the S&P 500 has logged average gains of just 0.2% and 2.0%, in the one-month and three-month period after a bull market is confirmed.

Piper Sandler reiterated its buy-equivalent rating on Nvidia's stock and $620 per-share price target, which implies nearly 33% upside from its Friday close. After Nvidia's more-than-200% stock-price gain this year, investors are wondering what's "new" about Nvidia, Jim Cramer said Monday. The answer to that question is software, Jim said, which could eventually help offset the historically boom-and-bust nature of semiconductor sales. Over time, though, Piper Sandler believes software can become a "significant portion" of Nvidia's total revenue. Despite our alignment with Piper Sandler on Nvidia's long-term software opportunity, Jim on Monday cautioned that its stock could be due for a breather.
