Read previewThis as-told-to essay is based on a conversation with Maggie Zheng, a 26-year-old from Arizona who works for a tech startup. While it's difficult and unfair to generalize an entire group of people, my experience dating tech bros certainly matches the phrase. I've learned a lot from my peers about how to apply a tech mindset to my relationship in a healthy way. My fiance and I both use our tech mindset to help our relationshipI've taken notes from my peers and even started applying them to my relationship. They were pretty normal things like meeting each other's parents and going on vacations, but applying a tech mindset helped us feel confident, structured, and on the same page.

Paris CNN —For two-time Olympic track and field champion Caster Semenya, Paris 2024’s boxing was unusually poignant. She took light welterweight gold on Friday night, besting her Chinese opponent in a dominant performance. But her Olympics have been marred by allegations over her gender, citing a 2023 decision by a now-discredited boxing regulator to bar her from a women’s tournament. Khelif was, “born female, was registered female, lived her life as a female, boxed as a female, has a female passport,” with IOC spokesperson Mark Adams said. The IOC should be “making sure that all athletes that take part in Olympics are well protected,” Semenya said.

And when I went viral, I said, "Okay, I need to do the most with this. There's something called survivor Social Security, and when you lose a parent, you're able to receive that benefit. It's been great to talk about these issues and the work I've been doing for years and to have a larger platform. LAS VEGAS — At the largest hacker conference in the world this week, some turned out for a rare overtly partisan event: a fundraiser for presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris. Organizers said the “Hackers for Harris” event, held late Thursday afternoon in a convention center bar at DEF CON, brought in more than $150,000 in pledged donations — a small amount compared to Harris’ recent hauls, but the largest political fundraiser in the conference’s 31-year-history. The hackers’ enthusiasm for Harris contrasts with how much a different tech sector, the cryptocurrency industry, has embraced former President Donald Trump. Some of Trump’s allies drastically misrepresented DEF CON’s findings about election cybersecurity in their failed attempts to prove he had actually won the 2020 election. Last year, Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., introduced a failed amendment to stop paying the salary of a relatively unknown career CISA election cybersecurity official.

My next home was in Seoul, for two years, followed by a decade in Hong Kong — the one place I truly felt at home. The book caught my now-business partner's attention and recently led me to Japan to help open a bar, Tokyo Confidential, in the capital. The U.S. lawsuits filed in DC Superior Court Monday shine a spotlight on the supply chains of some U.S. companies operating in the Mexican avocado industry. Reuters could not independently verify the accounts from the local residents or Climate Rights International’s findings. “They have even gone to destroy avocado orchards,” said Claudia Alejandra Sanchez, an activist for Michoacán’s Purepecha Indigenous people. Reuters reviewed copies of letters shared by Climate Rights International. Most of those companies have publicly pledged to adhere to sustainable supply chains in compliance with local laws.

The dissolved calcium carbonate then reacts with the CO2 in the water to form bicarbonate salts, locking the CO2 away. Adkins says that with a full-scale reactor, he aims to capture and store about half of a ship’s CO2 emissions. BAR Technologies/Cargill French company Airseas has developed the Seawing, which it says could help ships cut their carbon emissions by an average of 20%. A British company called Seabound, for example, makes a device that captures between 25% and 95% of a ship’s CO2 emissions. “We think that ships are actually going to be able to compete with underground CO2 storage,” he said.

Kave and fellow American ex-pat Jennifer Crain are the co-founders of Abricot, a cocktail bar in Paris' 10th arrondissement. The bar has a small staff: three hourly employees and three contract employees. A mutual connection virtually introduced Kave and Crain shortly after, and the pair started expanding Crain's idea for a Parisian cocktail bar. They found a location and named their business Abricot, which is French slang for female genitalia. The delays ate up most of the initial investment, Crain says, as Abricot paid rent for over a year before it opened.
