A group of analysts from JPMorgan's trading desk say a new record high for S&P 500 "feels inevitable." The S&P 500 closed at 4,576.73 on Tuesday, less than 5% shy of its record closing level of 4,796.56 reached in January 2022. The fact earnings can beat expectations in an high-rate environment creates the argument for elevated valuations, in their view, and that could push the S&P 500 well beyond record highs. Anastasia Amoroso, iCapital's chief investment strategist, told Insider on Monday that all-time highs indeed look possible for the S&P 500 in the near-term. Steady multiples and fulfilled earnings expectations should be enough to justify the S&P 500 at 4,800 or above."

Elon Musk appeared to join in the criticism around Gerwig's "Barbie" in a tweet. "Barbie" may be storming the box office, but not everyone is a fan of Greta Gerwig's new pink-obsessed epic. "It you take a shot every time Barbie says the word "patriarchy", you will pass out before the movie ends," Musk said on Twitter, in response to a user's meme. Representatives for Musk did not respond to Insider's request for further comment with an answer that addressed the question. Last month, he told users that terms like "cisgender" and "cis" were considered "slurs" on Twitter.

Although they describe Casa Baio as a “modern farmhouse,” they say they’ve tried to incorporate as many traditional local materials, including handmade terracotta tiles, along with floor tiles made from local marble, as possible. Private lenders, meanwhile, had "significant liquidity" to deploy for such financings, proving to be a right fit. Besides property developers, borrowers thronging private markets include privately-held companies and start-ups whose private equity issuance has been stymied by broader stock market swings and the deepening discounts of their valuations, known as a 'down round' in the industry. Investment firm Muzinich & Co. recently announced it had closed a $500 million Asia Pacific private debt strategy. Australian superannuation fund UniSuper, which runs a $15 billion private markets portfolio investing in unlisted infrastructure and private equity, is looking to grow its portfolio. New York CNN —Elon Musk disclosed on Twitter Saturday that, due to a 50% drop in advertising revenue and a “heavy debt load,” the platform still has a negative cash flow. Ad revenue has been a contentious issue and an uphill battle for the site, after hordes of advertisers fled after Musk took over. The New York Times reported that Twitter’s US advertising revenue from the five weeks from April 1 to the first week of May was down 59% year-over-year, citing an internal presentation. “It’s definitely been extremely difficult,” Musk said in Twitter Spaces livestream event Musk hosted with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr last month. On Thursday, Twitter announced content creators would be able to get a slice of the site’s ad revenue, seemingly to encourage more creators to join the site.

"Need to reach positive cash flow before we have the luxury of anything else," Musk wrote in response to a tweet. Musk took over Twitter in October of last year in a deal valued at around $44 billion, including about $13 billion in debt. He also claimed at that time that the company was "roughly breakeven," and expected to become cash flow positive within the next quarter. A number of widely followed accounts on Twitter posted that they were dismayed they did not qualify to earn income from the program yet. It's not clear how much Twitter paid creators in total in this first round of payments.

Am account that reposts viral posts is among the big beneficiaries of Twitter's new monetization scheme. The "Internet Hall of Fame" account appears to have netted $100,000 from the scheme. Musk previously said that accounts based on "theft" of others' post would not get paid. The "internet hall of fame" account, which has 1.9 million followers and describes itself as highlighting the "best of the internet," in a screenshot Thursday was shown to have been paid $107,247.00. He didn't define exactly what he meant by "theft of posts," and it isn't totally clear whether Internet Hall of Fame would meet that definition.

Twitter announced Thursday it would start sharing ad revenue with some creators. Elon Musk has started sharing Twitter's ad revenue with a handful of accounts, hoping to incentivize the best creators to put their content on his platform. Twitter announced Thursday that creators would now be eligible to some of the company's ad revenue, "to help people earn a living directly" on the platform. But on the rare occasion Donaldson reveals how much ad revenue he makes, it is surprisingly little. Ad revenue traditionally aids smaller accounts who don't have their own brand deals — YouTube monetization is open to anyone with 1,000 subscribers.

Orcas are targeting boats near Spain while gray whales in Baja let humans pet them. "It isn't people running up to whales, it's whales coming to people." The gray whales befriending boats is especially interesting because just decades ago they were hunted to the brink of extinction in those same lagoons. But after conservation measures made whaling illegal, the North Pacific gray whales have dramatically recovered, allowing for these more friendly, social interactions between whales and humans. And it's not just the gray whales.

Now gray whales in Baja California frequently interact with humans in a remarkable shift. The video showed a gray whale right beside a boat, allowing the captain to pick whale lice off its head. Still, the fact that the gray whales of the Baja lagoons interact with boats and humans at all baffles researchers. The gray whales then make the longest migration of any mammal, with most traveling more than 10,000 miles to their foraging grounds near Alaska. Hunting gray whales is illegal, with some exceptions for Indigenous peoples in Alaska, Canada, and Mexico.

A look through China's economy today reveals a few dilemmas, especially for investors trying to gauge future growth. The nature of China's economic recovery over the last few months from Covid have unique characteristics that aren't easily captured in broad strokes, Goldman Sachs' Andrew Tilton and a team pointed out back in late May. That means the stock winners of China's recovery are likely hidden under broader market performance. One month since Goldman's assessment, China's economic trajectory remains the same. "If weak confidence becomes so entrenched, it could be self-fulling and derail the economic recovery."

Killer whales near the Iberian Peninsula have been striking boats since 2020. No doubt the encounters feel like attacks to the boaters, but experts say that may not be accurate. But in at least three cases the killer whales have managed to sink sailboats, prompting talk of an "orca uprising" in which the whales were finally fighting back. Despite one theory about a "traumatized" killer whale seeking revenge on boats, Trites and other experts have said they believe the orcas are most likely just playing. They appear to be picking up and mimicking the play behavior of other killer whales, suggesting it is being positively reinforced, or that they are getting pleasure or some sort of benefit from it.

Generally speaking, orcas in the wild do not pose a threat to humans. But the boat encounters are still dangerous, and swimming with a massive wild animal can be risky. Generally speaking, killer whales do not pose much of a threat to humans. The Iberian population members targeting boats also do not seem to be interested in humans, Strager noted. However, Strager said it's impossible to draw any conclusions about wild orcas based on the behavior of captive orcas, as they are in such an artificial environment.

It's a sign that top Silicon Valley executives are embracing a new era of the tech bro. The term "tech bro" has been around for the better part of a decade, but what it means to be a tech bro has changed over time. The metamorphosis of tech bro culture is most apparent in the evolution of founders like Zuckerberg and Jeff Bezos. Musk has made it cool to be a tech CEO and created a loyal fan base that few could rival. The Joe Rogan Experience/YouTubeThough, this kind of tech bro behavior can have consequences.

BUCHAREST, June 23 (Reuters) - Internet personality Andrew Tate will remain under house arrest in Romania for another 30 days from the end of June pending trial on charges of human trafficking, a Bucharest court ruled on Friday. They are under house arrest pending an investigation into abuses against seven women whom prosecutors say were lured through false claims of relationships, accusations the suspects have denied. The four suspects were held in police custody from Dec. 29 until March 31 before a Bucharest court put them under house arrest, which prosecutors on Tuesday sought to extend. The court needs to approve preventative restrictive measures such as house arrest every 30 days. "We're not the first affluent wealthy men who have been unfairly attacked," Tate told reporters on Wednesday after the hearing.
