An Atlas Air cargo plane headed for Puerto Rico was diverted Thursday night after taking off from Miami International Airport because of engine trouble, according to an official and flight data. Flight 5Y095 landed safely after experiencing an “engine malfunction” shortly after departure, Atlas Air said early Friday. “The crew followed all standard procedures and safely returned” to the airport, the company said in a statement. “At Atlas, safety is always our top priority and we will be conducting a thorough inspection to determine the cause.”It was unclear what kind of cargo the plane was carrying. While the company did not state the aircraft type, data collected by FlightAware, a flight tracking company, showed it was a Boeing 747-8.

Bain has been interviewing investment banks to hire financial advisers that will help the private equity firm come up with a plan to cash out on its majority stake in Varsity Brands, the sources said. Varsity Brands generates more than $400 million in 12-month earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, the sources added, asking not to be identified because the matter is confidential. Varsity Brands and Bain declined to comment. Varsity Brands consists of two main businesses, BSN SPORTS and Varsity Spirit. Nov 9 (Reuters) - Former France under-21 international Sofiane Diop has accepted a first call-up from Morocco for the start of their 2026 World Cup qualification campaign this month, coach Walid Regragui confirmed on Thursday. Nice midfielder Diop, 23, was born in France but is also eligible for Morocco, who reached the semi-finals of the World Cup in Qatar and recently recruited another French youth international in Bayer Leverkusen winger Amine Adli. "He (Diop) is a player who could have chosen other countries also. Morocco are scheduled to host Eritrea next Thursday in their qualification opener and despite reports the latter could withdraw from the preliminaries, Regragui said they have received no confirmation from FIFA. The Atlas Lions will travel away to Tanzania on Nov. 21 for their second game.
