Yet, when it comes to long-term performance of the markets and policies that Trump proposed on the campaign trail, financial advisors say it's best to take a wait-and-see approach before making any big money decisions. Lee Baker, a CFP and owner of Claris Financial Advisors in Atlanta, said he's also told clients not to make wholesale financial changes now. Many investors expect Trump to lead with faster economic growth and more market-friendly policies, said Francis during a Friday webcast on what Trump's presidency could mean for investors' money. While those policies would put more money in Americans' pockets, Francis noted, other experts say it's too soon to count on those changes.

In a Thursday interview with CNBC's Jim Cramer, DraftKings CEO Jason Robins said the online sports betting industry is at a turning point as more people across the country realize they can gamble legally. "We're at a very, you know, important inflection point in the industry," Robins said. "Most people assume that it's legal in most states now if not all. DraftKings cut its full-year guidance for 2024 when it reported Thursday after the close, sending shares down nearly 6% in extended trading. "I would expect most states over the long term will have some form of legal sports betting, and hopefully we'll get those three."

Airbnb reported third-quarter earnings on Thursday that were shy of analyst estimates, though it squeaked in a small revenue beat. Increasing domestic oil production would theoretically achieve several goals for the new administration: increase domestic economic activity and employment, increase domestic energy security, and lower oil and gas prices. Interestingly, oil and gas production in the United States right now, the world's largest producer, has never been higher, and oil and gas prices, while well above pre-COVID levels, have stabilized. The incoming Trump administration will likely reduce federal regulations on drilling, pipeline development, and environmental protections that limit the expansion of oil and gas projects. This infrastructure investment benefits the oil services industry by enabling more accessible transport and new development projects, which Biden canceled.
