The company, owned by China-headquartered Bytedance, has been trying to address concerns over whether the Chinese government could access the data of European citizens who use TikTok. Several countries, the European Parliament, European Commission and others have banned TikTok from staff phones due to those concerns. TikTok in March launched a data security regime called Project Clover to build data centres and store European user data locally. The Norwegian data centre will be in the town of Hamar where TikTok will store data spread over three buildings and the first phase will start operating from next summer. The Norway data centre will run completely on renewable energy and generate heat that could be re-used.

CNN —Traditional medical imaging – used to diagnose, monitor or treat certain medical conditions – has long struggled to get clear pictures of patients with dark skin, according to experts. Researchers say they have found a way to improve medical imaging, a process through which physicians can observe the inside of the body, regardless of skin tone. They found that a distortion of the photoacoustic signal that makes the imaging more difficult to read, called clutter, increased with darkness of skin. The applications of photoacoustic technology vary, but with the researchers’ new developments, it may help diagnose health issues more accurately and equitably. We know there’s no basis in the human genome for racial sub-speciation.”This study isn’t the first to find skin color biases in medical technology.

A group of funeral home employees and well-wishers, said in unison, "Rest in peace, James," as they unveiled his tombstone, with his real name in small letters below large type reading, "Stoneman Willie." Because Murphy gave a fake name when arrested, local officials were unable to locate relatives, said local historian George Meiser. "Weeks passed, months passed, years passed and no one claimed the remains," Meiser said at the service. CNN —Pokémon is partnering with the Vincent van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam as part of a new collaboration to teach youngsters about the work of one of the Netherlands’ most famous artists. A number of Pokémon-themed exhibits will run at the Van Gogh Museum from Thursday as part of the museum’s 50th anniversary celebrations, according to a press release published Wednesday. There’s mischief in every Dahl story, and the voice of the writer is very strong. When I made “Fantastic Mr. Fox” and I was working on the script, we stayed at the house for some time.
