The Fed shouldn't waste rate cuts right now and risk a resurgence of inflation, "Big Short" investor Steven Eisman said. AdvertisementThe US economy is healthy, which means the Fed shouldn't needlessly cut rates, "The Big Short" investor Steven Eisman said. But climate activists worry that soaring exports of liquefied natural gas could make global warming worse. In the early 2000s, natural gas was relatively scarce at home, and companies were spending billions of dollars to build terminals to import gas from places like Qatar and Australia. In the mid-2000s, U.S. drillers perfected methods to unlock vast reserves of cheap natural gas from shale rock. The process of making and shipping liquefied natural gas adds complexity and cost, but if the difference between U.S. natural gas prices and overseas prices is big enough, it is profitable.

When 2023 began, a single bitcoin could be had for less than $17,000 after losing more than 75% of its value. But fueling this latest rally are prospects for the possible approval of spot bitcoin exchange traded funds — a pooled investment security that can be bought and sold like stocks. While analysts expect the potential approval of spot bitcoin ETFs to create a much larger pool of crypto investors, future volumes could go either way, Carey added. Despite the recent excitement around bitcoin, experts still maintain that crypto is a risky bet with wildly unpredictable fluctuations in value. Bottom line This was a very strong quarter, with almost nothing to nitpick. This year's rapid Data Center sales growth we've seen has been driven largely by cloud providers and enterprises. Sales to China and other impacted regions have, in the past few quarters, accounted for 20% to 25% of Data Center sales. However, the team added that they "believe the decline will be more than offset by strong growth in other regions." Guidance Looking ahead to Nvidia's fourth quarter of fiscal 2024, we once again got far stronger guidance than Wall Street was modeling.

Thanksgiving gas prices set to be the cheapest since 2020
  + stars: | 2023-11-17 | by ( Matt Egan | ) edition.cnn.com   time to read: +4 min
Just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday travel rush, gas prices are tumbling fast. This exceeds the typical seasonal drop in gas prices during the fall and leaves the national average at a 10-month low. If prices stay near current levels, this would be the cheapest gas price on Thanksgiving Day since 2020 when Covid-19 caused many Americans to stay off the roads altogether. GasBuddy projects the national average will slide to $3.25 a gallon or lower by Thanksgiving Day, marking the lowest priced Thanksgiving Day for fuel prices in three years. By comparison, gas prices stood at $3.57 a gallon on last year’s holiday following a year of notoriously high prices.
