Wednesday's 70-minute town hall with Trump, moderated by anchor Kaitlan Collins, was CNN's first big opportunity since the change of ownership to showcase itself as a network of facts. Trump has a history of peddling election fraud lies — an example of saying it's raining when it's not. At one point, bothered by Collins' consistent attempt to tether Trump to the truth, Trump called Collins "a nasty person." "If I see election fraud, I think I have an obligation to say it," Trump said. In other words, Trump said he'd suspend talk about the 2020 election fraud and then, seconds later, spoke about 2020 election fraud.
The great outdoors are now part of home life for Australian empty-nesters Mathew and Liz Kempton, after their gut renovation of a compact 1880s row house just north of Sydney Harbour Bridge. In 2017, they paid 4.35 million, Australian dollars, or about $2.88 million, for the 2,700-square-foot home that had an interior from a 1980s makeover. Working with CplusC Architectural Workshop, a studio in the Sydney area, they then spent about $1.7 million to reconfigure and reimagine the structure. It now has 3,800-square-feet of living space, three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. A separate guesthouse, with a garage, has remained unchanged.

Remote jobs are vanishing. As of November 2022, remote jobs made up less than 14% of postings advertised on LinkedIn, down from a high of 20.6% in March 2022 — even though close to half of jobseekers prefer remote roles. The remote job market might be shrinking, but there is a silver lining for the millions of workers craving flexibility: Though some remote jobs will disappear, others will continue to be in demand for a long time. The remote jobs that 'might not exist' in five yearsCompanies are hiring fewer people for remote roles in the U.S. that can be outsourced to cheaper workers overseas or replaced with AI, says Bloom. Other remote jobs that "might not exist in five years" are in industries that prioritize office culture and see remote work as "less optimal, less productive," says Rachel Sederberg, a senior economist and research manager at the labor analytics firm Lightcast.
A YouTube channel posted a clip of a fake "Star Wars" episode directed by Wes Anderson. Anderson — known for light-hearted and offbeat humor, quirky characters, and his hallmark cinematic symmetry — would probably never be called to direct a "Star Wars" movie. "This summer, Wes Anderson brings you a side of the Star Wars universe that you've never seen before: 'The Galactic Menagerie,'" the narrator says in the video. It seems that the video's release was perfectly timed, as Wes Anderson, Star Wars, and AI have all been points of cultural conversation recently." "At this stage, a guy on a laptop can't create AI content that matches the quality of Wes Anderson," Ward said.
Women still have less access to the internet, with men being 21% more likely to be online than women globally. One reason for this is because being a girl, teenager, woman, trans or non-binary person makes us victims of digital violence. An internet women want is one where there is no fear to comment, to express an opinion, or publish photos of our bodies -- and where there are no limits simply because you are a woman on the internet. Women stood together internationally when Iranian women cut their hair , showing how the internet politicises women, sparks debates and builds international solidarity. Therefore, an internet that women want -- and that works for women -- needs to start by being affordable for women.
London CNN —Single people should be honored as much as couples and families, the Church of England has said, pointing to Jesus’ own single status. The report’s suggestion to “honour” singleness is another deviation from the church’s traditional teachings of heterosexual marriage. While same-sex couples cannot be married by the church, a vote earlier this year favored blessing their marriage. “(The report reveals) that the shape of family changes through our lives,” Butler said. “It further shows that there is no one best shape, except that loving long term relationships are absolutely key for us all to flourish.”
"When I ran for President four years ago, I said we are in a battle for the soul of America. If Biden won a second term, he would extend his streak as the oldest person to sit in the Oval Office: He would be 82 on Inauguration Day 2025. Polling shows Democrats prefer a candidate other than Biden, but there isn't a consensus on who that alternative would be. An NBC News poll released Sunday found 70% of Americans, including 51% of Democrats, believe Biden should not seek a second term. Biden was able to accomplish many of his ambitious campaign goals with the help of a Democratic-controlled Congress for the first half of his term.
Morgan Stanley estimates that in 2022, only 23% of the $4.3 trillion of U.S adjusted retail spending was online. Add in AI, which can drive better shopper experiences or better conversion, it could bump to 9% or possibly 10% CAGR, he said. Eventually, AI can help retailers pitch tailored products to each potential customer based on their prior history. You might see it in the member services experience in having a better opportunity to get customer support," he said. As retailers move ahead in their plans to integrate AI into their business, some will build the capabilities.

"In a way it (BluSmart) has forced Uber to reimagine how it wants to play in India," WEF's Khurana said.

Christopher Willard | Walt Disney Television | Getty ImagesOn the advantage of being an underdog: I grew my business in a man's world. There were no businesses in New York City, especially in real estate, that were owned by women. There weren't any women role models, and the men weren't very forthcoming [with advice]. When I was just starting out, I went to a community business event and none of the men would even talk to me. The techniques for laying undersea cable have largely stayed the same for the past 70 years, but an effort to lay cable through the Arctic could require cable-layers to reimagine some parts of the decades-old process. A joint venture of Alaskan, Finnish and Japanese telecommunications carriers has contracted Alcatel Submarine Networks to lay a cable that will go west from Europe, through the Northwest Passage in Canada, and land in Japan—a new route enabled in part by the region’s melting due to climate change.
