Just about 41 miles north of Dallas lies Celina, a small North Texas town that is America's fastest-growing city. Downtown Celina, Texas. Their metamorphosis into sprawling suburban metropolises has been greatly influenced by the ongoing expansion of the North Texas Tollway, which has increased accessibility to the previously remote cities. AdvertisementNew businesses are moving into the cityWith more people living in the city, Celina's economy is also growing as local businesses and services benefit from increased demand. However, Joe Monaco, director of marketing and communications for the city of Celina, told BI that there were "countless volunteers who came out."

Given this truism, it's no wonder that the populations of America's so-called superstar cities have stagnated while the Sun Belt's metropolitan areas have boomed. The COVID-era transition to more remote work accelerated this process of "domestic offshoring," a recent study by the workforce-analytics company ADP found. Domestic offshoring regionally segregates middle- and working-class employees from their employers, making it far more difficult for the former group to advance professionally. Domestic offshoring threatens to lock in these effects, potentially costing the country trillions of dollars in forgone wealth creation. But if domestic offshoring persists, fewer of the city's other residents will be middle-class professionals; those people will tend to congregate in domestic-offshoring sites.

Just a few years ago, that same road — 34th Avenue — was a traffic-clogged artery. The 34th Avenue Open Street is 26 traffic-restricted blocks with a handful of entirely car-free plazas outside schools. Thousands of students use the 34th Avenue Open Street to get to and from school every day. Siff and others hope 34th Avenue will become a public park that prioritizes people on foot. This story is available exclusively to Business Insider subscribers. Defense attorneys told Business Insider that besides jail time, prosecutors could try to impose a large fine, community service, or probation on the former president. Aidala said if prosecutors "really want to embarrass" the former president "they may ask for community service." Any kind of community service would likely be "private," so Trump couldn't be "out there cleaning a park or picking up garbage," Aidala said.

CNN —Anger is growing in India after a teenager who allegedly killed two people while drunk driving was ordered to write an essay as punishment, with many demanding a harsher penalty and accusing the judiciary of leniency. The minor was taken into custody and later presented to the Juvenile Justice Board, where he was released on bail and given 15 days of community service. He was also asked to write an essay about road safety, Fadnavis said. “This was a surprising order passed (by the Juvenile Justice Board),” Fadnavis said. “It was wrong (to allow the minor to drive),” he told reporters outside his home, while fighting back tears.

Andres Gonzalez, 19, stands on the balcony of his Los Angeles apartment, his hands in his suit pockets. It is his first week as a missionary, but today, instead of approaching people on the street, he is shooting a video that he will later post to social media. After about a dozen takes, he is successful. If you would like to learn more about Jesus Christ,” he says to the camera in Spanish, “contact me.”Mr. Gonzalez is the image of the modern missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which has changed many of its practices — from how missionaries preach to how they dress. The faith, long known for sending tens of thousands of neatly and formally dressed young people across the globe each year to preach door to door, is encouraging new missionaries to spread the gospel on social media and, for some, with acts of community service closer to home.

I've always known that my parents were older than the parents — and occasionally even the grandparents — of my peers. Having older parents than my peers was both rewarding and challenging while growing up. Almost any child with older parents, regardless of the generation they were born into, can tell you they've imagined what taking care of their parents would look like. To my surprise, many of my Gen Z friends knew exactly what I was going through. You rarely tell the "outside" — be it your extended family or friends, what's going on "inside" — or in the home.

On Friday night, in the premiere of his appealingly chaotic livestreaming variety show “Everybody’s in L.A.,” which runs every night this week, John Mulaney delivered a monologue about his adopted city next to a map that broke it down into a crooked jigsaw puzzle of neighborhoods. It’s the biggest comedy showcase of the year (with more than 500 offerings, a 40 percent increase from the festival’s already mammoth debut event in 2022) but also something of a corporate flex. Who else could get Hannah Gadsby and Shane Gillis in the same festival or draw the talk-show titans Jon Stewart and David Letterman to host events? The most newsworthy shift this year was the aggressive move into livestreaming events, following the blockbuster success of Chris Rock’s 2023 special, “Selective Outrage,” about being slapped at the Oscars. (One of that ceremony’s hosts, Wanda Sykes, returned to the place it happened, the Dolby Theater, for a festival show and began by saying this time no one would get assaulted).
