General Motors and Stellantis said they have laid off additional workers because of consequences related to the United Auto Workers strike. The plants make parts for Jeep vehicles built at the automaker's Toledo Assembly Complex, where workers are also on strike. GM's Fairfax Assembly plant builds the Chevrolet Malibu sedan and Cadillac XT4 crossover. "We have said repeatedly that nobody wins in a strike," GM said in a statement. MALIBU, California – The most amazing thing about the $2.1 million Rimac Nevera is how easy it is to just get in and drive. It sits low — very low — to the ground, and at first glance it looks like the simple act of getting into it could be complicated. Gears are shifted with a big knob to the left of the steering wheel, the power seat's adjustments are hidden in a touchscreen, and switches for the turn signals and headlights are mounted directly on the steering wheel. One of the first things I noticed as we got underway is that it's easy to see out of the Nevera. And the Nevera is very special indeed — as it should be for its just over $2 million asking price.

CNN —A man’s body was found inside a plastic barrel at a beach in Malibu, California, after a lifeguard spotted the unusual item floating offshore, officials announced. The body was inside a 55-liter black drum, which was discovered at Malibu Lagoon State Beach, Lieutenant Hugo Reynaga with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said Monday. Homicide investigators are examining the circumstances surround the death of the man, who was identified as a Black adult, the sheriff’s department said in a release. A state park maintenance worker first spotted the large drum floating in the lagoon around 3 p.m. Sunday, Reynaga said. Around 10 a.m. Monday, the lifeguard swam out to get the barrel from the lagoon and opened it on shore, finding a “non-responsive” person inside, the lieutenant said.
