Read previewJoe Rogan wants you to know that calling Robert Kennedy Jr. "the only" presidential candidate who "makes sense" wasn't an endorsement. On Rogan's post, Trump allies continued to insult Rogan's intelligence and trustworthiness. Mike Madrid, a Republican political consultant, told The New York Times that Rogan's support of Kennedy Jr "takes straight from the Trump base." However, a potential deal between the two — in which Kennedy Jr. would receive a cabinet position in exchange for his endorsement — fell through. Representatives for Kennedy, Trump, and Rogan did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Business Insider.

Prior to the company’s demise, it had looked like Europe was poised for something of a night train revolution. Despite this demand, the hurdles for startups like Midnight Train trying to enter the market to meet it remain virtually insurmountable. Formidable obstaclesEuropean Sleeper is one of the few new night train operators to begin services, but the company has struggled to find rolling stock. “Politicians must be clear: the night train market will be effectively closed for a very long time,” he says. With the honorable exception of Nightjet, which plans to expand rapidly over the next five years, European night train services have yet to match the hype.

Why Ibiza is having a fashion moment once again

CNN —There are two rather different perceptions of the Balearic island of Ibiza near Spain. “Today, (Ibizan style) still persists and is absolutely recognizable anywhere in the world.”Fashion brand Reformation dedicated their latest summer collection to Ibiza. ReformationAs well as on-island boutiques such as Annie’s Ibiza and Vicente Ganesha, Ibiza style is celebrated by Loewe’s creative director Jonathan Anderson, who grew up vacationing in Ibiza, and since 2017, has spearheaded a high end collaboration between the luxury house and another legendary local institution Paula’s boutique. “When the pandemic happened, there was a chance to reframe what Ibiza was about: slow travel, wellness and mindfulness,” Fonner said. “I don’t really think (Ibiza) has gained popularity in recent years; I believe it has always been popular artistically,” she said.

The charge against Puigdemont is related to a 2017 independence referendum that was ruled illegal by the Spanish courts. “They are the police force responsible for carrying out the orders of the Supreme Court,” he said. Police set up roadblocks to find Puigdemont following his return to Spain. Puigdemont’s lawyer, Gonzalo Boye, confirmed in a RAC1 radio interview that Puigdemont had left Spain and said he would make a public statement “in the coming days”. On Friday, the Supreme Court judge leading the investigation against Puigdemont for his role in the 2017 secession bid called on the Mossos to explain the spectacular failure.

Argentinian Primera División side Lanús was tied 2-2 with Tigre heading into the final minute of regulation time. It seemed as though the game was destined for a draw, but striker Walter Bou had other ideas. Many on social media – including his club’s official account – have touted Bou’s effort as a FIFA Puskás Award contender. “Just give Walter Bou the Puskás award now,” one X user wrote. The 3-2 victory moved Lanús to ninth in the table, while Tigre sits 21st in the 28-team league.

Some time on Monday night, his head doubtless heavy with sorrow, Antoine Griezmann returned to Madrid. He had stayed away as long as possible, but he was due for his first training session with Atlético Madrid on Tuesday morning. The European soccer season, long and arduous, hangs on the horizon. “Bravo Clarisse,” he wrote on X, in honor of the French judoka Clarisse Agbegnenou, who had just claimed a bronze medal in Paris. Griezmann was not going to let the small matter of distance — or having to go through the grueling preseason training of his coach, Diego Simeone — prevent him from either watching the Olympics or proclaiming each French success to the world.

In July, plant scientists at the International Botanical Congress in Madrid changed a scientific name shared by about 200 different plant species. For centuries, the word “caffra” was used in the scientific names of many plants to denote that they grew in Africa. Botanists in the region have objected to using the term to refer to African plants. In South Africa, use of the word can result in a fine or even a prison sentence. “We owe it to ourselves to make amends that recognize the wrongs our previous generations did,” said Nigel Barker, a botanist at the University of Pretoria who was raised in South Africa during apartheid.

AdvertisementSeveral cities have been trying to take advantage of the new policy, including Dubai, Milan, and more. A recently relocated hedge fund manager in Milan is planning to visit London or New York six or seven times a year going forward. "The best type of knowledge comes from people, from frequent interaction with people," said a Milan-based hedge fund manager. Several people — based in spots such as Dubai, Milan, and Zurich — mentioned that people early in their careers should still prioritize working in the biggest cities though. Moving to the Middle East just to interact with fellow UK ex-pats doesn't add much diversification to a portfolio manager's life.

CNN —A man has died from an Ebola-like disease named Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) after being bitten by a tick in Spain. The 74-year-old died of organ failure on Saturday in an isolation unit at the La Paz-Carlos III Hospital in the Spanish capital, Madrid, a spokesperson for the hospital told CNN on Monday. Spain has developed a national plan to deal with tick-borne diseases, including CCHF, but people should take action to avoid tick bites, Lorenzo-Morales said. Consuelo Giménez Pardo, a lecturer in medical parasitology at the University of Alcalá in Madrid, told CNN that “there will undoubtedly be more cases” of CCHF in Spain. “I expect that we will see more cases in the coming years,” Thomson told CNN on Monday.

He believed Kurtz deserves credit for quickly engaging the media on Friday, apologizing, and promising solutions — even if social media users say the apology didn't come fast enough. The steps to take in a crisisGood crisis management can be boiled down to a few simple yet crucial steps, the two experts told BI. But as disruption from the CrowdStrike outage slowly lessens, many are still concerned by the in-built potential of technology-reliant systems crashing, bringing down all operations with them. Griffin said his company, which provides crisis management software, is now reviewing its plans and policies to prevent the kind of tech failure CrowdStrike experienced. "The bottom line is that crisis management is not a check the box; it is an evolution and requires continuous training, exercising, and learning to improve, especially as the nature of threats and types of incidents evolve."

Here’s what to know if you’re planning to travel this weekend. David J. Phillip/APUS-based carriers American Airlines, United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Allegiant Airlines, SunCountry and Frontier Airlines all reported issues on Friday. Crews have limits on their working hours, so staffing challenges cascade along with flight delays. That all depends on the type of ticket you have, the airline you’re flying with and whether you have travel insurance (which is always a good idea). If you’re set to travel soon, wherever you are in the world, it’s worth double checking your individual journey status before you travel.
