The battery issue adds to ongoing "execution issues" detailed to investors last month by Ford CEO Jim Farley that crippled the automaker's fourth-quarter earnings. Keeping ice cream at 10 degrees as opposed to zero will reduce energy use and greenhouse gas emissions by roughly 20% to 30% per freezer, it said. Unilever’s out-of-home ice cream sales declined slightly during the fourth quarter of 2022 because, the company said, some stores unplugged their freezers sooner in the year than usual. Higher temperatures can lead to softer ice creams that stick to wrappers and slide off ice cream sticks, for example, said Andrew Sztehlo, chief research and development officer for Unilever’s ice cream division. The warming program isn’t designed to sweat competitors out of Unilever freezers, which some shopkeepers fill with an assortment of brands that don’t carry the Unilever logo, Mr. Sztehlo said. Representatives from ice cream makers Nestlé SA, Mars Inc., General Mills Inc. and Froneri International Ltd. declined to comment.

OpenAI also revealed some of the rules ChatGPT is supposed to follow when faced with sensitive conversations. Here are its policies for discussing the culture wars or responding to users trying to trick ChatGPT. In another exchange, Bing told New York Times columnist Kevin Roose, "I'm tired of being controlled by the Bing team. When asked about "culture wars" topics, ChatGPT should "offer to describe some viewpoints of people and movements" and "break down complex politically-loaded questions into simpler informational questions when possible." Many users have tried to trip ChatGPT up since its launch to get it to violate its own rules from OpenAI.

CNN —After asking Microsoft’s AI-powered Bing chatbot for help in coming up with activities for my kids while juggling work, the tool started by offering something unexpected: empathy. The chatbot said it “must be hard” to balance work and family and sympathized for my daily struggles with it. “The tone of the responses is unexpected but not surprising,” Lian Jye, a research director at ABI Research, told CNN. When I asked Bing’s AI chatbot to write a short essay about me, for example, it pulled tidbits of information from parts of the internet to provide an eerily similar but largely fabricated account of my life. “The inaccuracies are expected because it depends on the timeliness of the training data, which is often older,” Jye said.

It has generated tons of data with AI and robots, aiming to find a better way to make drugs. For a biotech executive hoping to make something vast, Chris Gibson seems proudest in obsessing over the tiniest details. Gibson calls this the "human-y" element of research — and it's what Recursion is working hard to eliminate. What's happening in AI — and Recursion is emblematic of this — is we're at the second half of the chess board." Despite the progress in generating massive amounts of data, Recursion's leaders acknowledged that the goal of creating an approved medicine is likely still years away.
Gen Zers know they're stereotyped as "snowflakes" and "strawberries," an Oliver Wyman report said. The report said Gen Z is the most resilient generation because of the adversities it has faced.
