Zhejiang King on Saturday said it will suspend the new share subscription procedure initially scheduled on Monday because of the media reports, without specifying the nature of those reports. Zhejiang King said in its prospectus published last month that assets related to its air conditioner business were indirectly acquired from a different listed air conditioner company via a series of asset restructuring schemes. Zhejiang King said last month it aimed to raise 2.38 billion yuan ($325.98 million) at 68.07 yuan per share.

The arrival of Chinese EV makers in Europe has raised concerns they could dominate EV sales. Xpeng President Brian Gu said while European carmakers currently lag behind China, they have made a "huge commitment" to EVs with partnerships and large investments in technology. The moves comply with new rules introduced last month as Beijing tightens oversight of mobile apps in the country. "The Android app stores have confirmed that new apps require the app filings from Friday onwards, and existing apps must have it from March 31 onwards," Rich Bishop, CEO of app publishing firm AppInChina said. "It forces all global apps on these app stores to either establish a local entity or work with a local partner." As of Monday, it is not yet checking apps' filing status, AppInChina said, citing its own checks. The notice also said app stores will have to clearly mark each app's filing status on their platforms.

Hozon's IPO plan comes after it announced a 7 billion yuan pre-IPO fundraising late on Tuesday in a social media statement. More banks could be added to the syndicate working on the IPO as the deal progresses, they said. Local Hong Kong media reported earlier this week Hozon could raise up to $1 billion in a local listing. Hozon is building its first overseas plant in Thailand and aims to start production there in January 2024.
