Before the mayhem of Monday's home defeat against Chelsea, Wolves away would have been viewed as another opportunity for Tottenham to underline their top-four credentials. But that 4-1 reverse, Postecoglou's first setback in the Premier League, could cost the north London club more than a return to top spot and the loss of three points. A tumultuous derby ended with Tottenham having only four of their starting line-up left on the pitch. A home game against City will perhaps say a lot more about whether or not Chelsea have turned a corner. Former midfielder Paul Scholes believes Ten Hag still has some credit left in the bank after last season when United finished third in the Premier League and won the League Cup.

McConnell said he is aligned with Biden's “comprehensive approach” to funding Ukraine, Israel and other regions, but Republicans are “very serious” about including the border changes. “What we saw from Senate Republicans is not a serious piece of legislation," press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said. House Republicans are veering dramatically from the agreement Biden and McCarthy struck earlier this year to set spending levels. House Republicans are cutting money for most departments except the Pentagon, while the Senate also boosts defense and has shifted some resources. After Boebert won her last race by just 546 votes, she began revamping her campaign strategy. So-called ballot harvesting, which she's decried as an underhanded Democratic tactic, will be part of her campaign strategy. While campaigning in the district this election, Boebert seems “more empathetic" than her disruptive national profile. At events and debates in the last election, Boebert railed against then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who became a foil for bloated government, a broken system and Democratic demagoguery. After Colorado's largely city dwellers voted to reintroduce wolves to Colorado, Boebert has also proposed legislation to give ranchers greater recourse to defend their flocks.

LONDON, Oct 30 (Reuters) - Chelsea supporters travelling to Wolverhampton Wanderers for the Premier League fixture on Christmas Eve will be offered free transport to and from the game, the London club said on Monday. "The club is aware that transport options are more limited than usual on this date, as it is a Sunday and also Christmas Eve," Chelsea said in a statement. "As a sign of appreciation for fans making this trip, Chelsea Football Club will be offering free travel as a goodwill gesture to anyone who purchases a ticket." The change of date to Christmas Eve was criticised by the club's fans who described it as "totally unacceptable". The Chelsea Supporters' Trust said match-going fans would face issues travelling to Wolves on a holiday weekend.

There are very real instances of corporate America engaging in misconduct, and we aggressively pursue those real cases. Each week, I would estimate our firm gets more than 500 inquiries a week on employment cases. The Tacoma-based Point Defiance Zoo is conducting dental exams and teeth-cleaning in its managed care program. The fittingly named vet is helping bolster a population of only 270 red wolves known to exist, mostly in managed care or zoos. The animals in managed care tend to live longer than free-ranging red wolves, in part because they have annual exams and dental hygiene. The rare red wolves once ranged from New York to Texas, but by the late 1960s to 1970s a once thriving population was decimated. Three of those released came from the Point Defiance Zoo program, including a pup born April 13.

LONDON (AP) — On a day when English soccer mourned the passing of Bobby Charlton, Manchester City and Liverpool got back on track with wins in the Premier League. City and Liverpool bounced back from two straight disappointing results with comfortable wins to reignite a title rivalry that is showing signs of once again going deep into the season. Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland netted for City in the opening 20 minutes, with the Norway striker ending a mini-drought after going two league games without scoring. Israel still occupies the West Bank, captured with Gaza in a 1967 Middle East war. More than 70 Palestinians have been killed in West Bank violence since Oct. 7 and Israel has arrested more than 800 people. Hamas cited attacks on West Bank Palestinians and arrests this year as part of its reason for attacking on Oct. 7. But the arrests have also limited West Bank violence, said Mustafa al-Khawaja, a 52-year-old anti-settlement activist. But studies have shown that humans are hard-wired to want their fair share, as are other animals that have cooperative relationships, like monkeys, birds and wolves. In one famous experiment, researchers trained two capuchin monkeys to hand them tokens in exchange for a cucumber snack. The other monkey, who continued to receive cucumbers, looked enraged, shook the walls of her enclosure and hurled the cucumbers out of reach. In the workplace, psychologists refer to this as effort-reward imbalance. In humans, the perception that you are getting less than others for the same amount of work can contribute to symptoms associated with burnout and lead to a higher risk of depression.

If the survivors are living a nightmare — there is no lack of toxic, parasitic and stabby wildlife all around them — it is a gorgeous one. But while “Scavengers Reign” looks epic, there is no sprawling lore or mythology as in recent sci-fi serials like “Foundation” and “Raised by Wolves.” It’s a man-and-woman-and-robot-vs.-nature struggle, full of ingenuity, ooze and blood. (Parents note: This is definitely an adult animated series, both in language and in the level of occasional gore.) There is not a clear line, on this planet, between plant and animal life, if the categories apply at all. “Scavengers Reign” imagines a future in which humanity treats the universe, like it did Earth, as a grab bag of extractable resources.

The USS Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group was deployed in the eastern Mediterranean amid a growing crisis in Israel. Carrier strike groups host significant airpower and firepower, and the Ford's new technological capabilities make it a major presence. US officials announced the movement of the carrier strike group toward Israel on Sunday, the day after Hamas carried out deadly terror attacks against the US ally. The amount of firepower each vessel brings adds up, especially considering the capabilities of the air wing aboard USS Gerald R. Ford. Gabriel Martinelli's late goal handed Arsenal a 1-0 win over defending champion Manchester City on Sunday, ending a 12-game losing streak in the league against Pep Guardiola's team in the process. City pipped Arsenal to the title by five points last term, in part by beating the Gunners 3-1 away and 4-1 at home. In fact, Arsenal had not taken a point against City in the league since 2017, its longest losing streak against a single opponent in club history. City as a team only had four shots in the game, its lowest total ever under Guardiola in a Premier League game. The estimated age of the footprints was first reported in Science in 2021, but some researchers raised concerns about the dates. It uses two entirely different materials found at the site, ancient conifer pollen and quartz grains. The new study isolated about 75,000 grains of pure pollen from the same sedimentary layer that contained the footprints. “Dating pollen is arduous and nail-biting,” said Kathleen Springer, a research geologist at the United States Geological Survey and a co-author of the new paper. Ancient footprints of any kind — left by humans or megafauna like big cats and dire wolves — can provide archaeologists with a snapshot of a moment in time, recording how people or animals walked or limped along and whether they crossed paths.

Ukrainians still often dismiss Russian troops as incompetent after battlefield failures in 2022 and the recruitment of thousands of convicts to fill their ranks.
