Republican lawmakers filed legislation exempting release of the travel and security records after an outcry over a proposal to significantly scale back the state's Freedom of Information Act. Sanders is seeking the limits as State Police is being sued by an attorney and blogger who has accused the agency of illegally withholding records about the governor's travel and security. The newest bill also removes proposals facing opposition that would have created an attorney-client privilege exemption for state records and a change in how attorneys' fees are awarded in open records lawsuits. The legislation filed Tuesday would require State Police to file quarterly reports that identifies by month and budget category expenses for the governor’s security. It would also make the exemptions on the governor's security retroactive to June 1, 2022.

CNN —Ron Cephas Jones, who won two Emmy Awards for his acting on the hit television drama “This Is Us,” has died at age 66, according to his manager, Dan Spilo. “As a parent that’s the most fulfilling that I could ever feel at the moment,” Jones said after his win, according to Deadline. He was on and off a ventilator and had to learn to breathe, eat and walk again, the Times reported. Jones, right, starred as William Hill, the biological father of Randall Pearson, played by Sterling K. Brown, in "This Is Us." Priscilla O'Kesson uses AI-powered robot ElliQ to combat her loneliness, Spectrum News reported. The 77-year-old is one of 257 New Yorkers who received the ElliQ at no cost through New York State. The 77-year-old told Spectrum News that she talks to the robot about 12 to 15 times per day. "I enjoy her," O'Kesson told Spectrum News regarding the robot. In March 2023, aging departments in California and Washington announced new programs with Intuition Robotics that aims to provide elders across select counties in each state with the ElliQ robot.

The first three England games saw one-fifth of bets placed by women, it said. Betting on the co-host and semi-finalist Australia saw a 200% increase, fuelled by the Matildas strong run. Soccer leads the way in terms of the number of people betting and placing bets, and the number of women betting on women's soccer has doubled annually, the study said. Entain did not immediately disclose the number of bets placed on the World Cup.
