Things have recently accelerated in November, and Tuesday, the IGV Software ETF was one of just three ETFs we track to make new all-time highs. Within the IGV Software ETF, it also has the third biggest weighting, but it's behind both CRM and ORCL. More importantly, MSFT has been noticeably lagging the IGV ETF across various time frames. The small cap Russell 2000 index contains domestic companies that should benefit in a protectionist, on-shoring environment as long as inflation and rates stay contained. The monthly chart of the Russell 2000 shows a pending breakout from all-time highs of 2,459. Put in simpler terms the Russell 2000 small cap index has underperformed the large cap S & P 500 index for the past 13 years. The small cap Industrial ETF just broke from a consolidation around $135 and is still in the earlier stages of the expansion. The forward valuation is 28 times 2025 earnings so not egregious for this high growth small cap industrial name.

Financial and energy stocks have jumped since last week's election, but there's another area of opportunity that investors could be missing out on, according to Janus Henderson. The market has rallied since President-elect Donald Trump' s victory, although it took a breather on Tuesday. However, financial stocks may have "gotten in a bit ahead of themselves," said Jeremiah Buckley, a portfolio manager at Janus Henderson. In addition, there is great research and development happening in health care right now, especially in health-care services, Buckley added. Among the funds Buckley oversees at Janus Henderson is the U.S. Dividend Income Fund .
