A caracal that had recently been on the loose in a suburban Chicago neighborhood has officially been captured, nearly 24 hours after officials warned residents of the exotic cat in the area. The large cat — a caracal — was located Tuesday morning in Hoffman Estates under the deck of a residence, the police department said. Cell phone video moments after the capture showed at least six officers handling a large cage, with the caracal inside quickly jumping from side to side. A caracal was captured Tuesday in Hoffman Estates, Ill. NBC Chicago“He’s cute, isn’t he?” a voice can be heard saying in the background. Archaeologists found 50 Viking-era skeletons in Åsum, Denmark. Dating back to the 9th or 10th century, the graves are evidence of international trade. The area's growth was influenced by these trade routes and its proximity to the sea. They had no idea they were standing on the well-preserved graves of 50 Viking-era skeletons. "As we suspected, the graves tell us a story of people connected to the international trade routes," Borre Lundø told Business Insider via email.

AASUM, Denmark — In a village in central Denmark, archeologists made a landmark discovery that could hold important clues to the Viking era: a burial ground, containing some 50 “exceptionally well-preserved” skeletons. “This is such an exciting find because we found these skeletons that are so very, very well preserved,” said archeologist Michael Borre Lundø, who led the six-month dig. The site was discovered last year during a routine survey, ahead of power line renovation work on the outskirts of the village of Aasum, 3 miles northeast of Odense, Denmark’s third-largest city. Nan Ray moved from India to live with her son and his wife in America when her granddaughter was 2. It was a sacrifice, but it helped her son and daughter-in-law achieve career success. My granddaughter was a toddler when my husband and I moved permanently from India to the US. In India, it's relatively common for generations to live together, and everybody does their bit to help out. It never occurred to us or my son and daughter-in-law to pay us even the smallest amount for childcare.

A Hurricane Milton tornado tore through a Florida retirement community Wednesday, killing multiple residents and leaving a level of destruction not seen locally for decades, officials said. Four people died in St. Lucie County, on Florida’s east coast, and more than one of those fatalities came at the Spanish Lakes Country Club Village, a neighborhood designed for residents 55 and older, county spokesman Erick Gill said. “I can’t confirm that all of them [the four deaths] were from the Spanish Lakes neighborhood that was hardest hit,” Gill told NBC News. “I’ve worked for St. Lucie County for 21 years. “We’re not going to stop until we double-check, triple-check to make sure that anyone in there that needs to be rescued is rescued,” St. Lucie County Sheriff Keith Pearson said in a video message to the community.
