GLENDALE, Ariz. — Former independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said Saturday he is being investigated for collecting a whale specimen. Kennedy said that he responded in a letter, baselessly linking the National Marine Fisheries Service with whale deaths and calling for the agency to investigate. Kennedy did not go into details about the whale incident, but his daughter had previously described a situation involving a whale that took place 30 years ago. Kennedy endorsed Trump in August and has since been on the campaign trail urging supporters to back the former president. US Census Bureau data found the enrollment rate of high school graduates at 61.4% in October 2023 was slightly down from 62% in 2022. Indeed, even as some Gen Zers don't think college is the best path for them, recent data has shown that college continues to provide long-lasting benefits when it comes to careers and earnings. Some high schools have shifted to place a greater emphasis on alternative routes since the pandemic.

Why Trump’s trade hero turned against tariffs
  + stars: | 2024-09-14 | by ( Zachary B. Wolf | ) edition.cnn.com   time to read: +15 min
Vice President Kamala Harris has lambasted Trump’s tariff plan as a tax, but President Joe Biden has maintained tariffs Trump put in place during his presidency. We used trade policy, or tariffs, as a form of reciprocity, where we said, OK, our tariffs are pretty high. So that’s what led to all these trade agreements, the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade, GATT, which became the WTO (World Trade Organization), NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) and other free trade agreements that we’ve reached. He began to entertain this idea of reciprocity, of trying to reduce foreign tariffs by offering cuts in our tariffs. How do those tariffs compare with the late 19th century tariffs?

I grew up working class and learned good work ethic from my parents. The novelty of cap erasers and Airheads from the school store wore off fast, and money didn't have much luster. In our part of Wisconsin, with its German roots and farm families, work ethic is our moral code. What 'good work ethic' means for your financesBecause it's in my DNA, I can't help but see a strong work ethic as a virtue. What I wish I'd learned about money earlierI'll always be grateful for the work ethic I learned from my parents ... and I wish I'd gotten the nuances of money a bit earlier in life.

His daughter said in July that he was planning to run for Peru’s presidency for the fourth time in 2026. The former university president and mathematics professor was the consummate political outsider when he emerged from obscurity to win Peru’s 1990 election over writer Mario Vargas Llosa. He had hoped to run for Peru’s presidency in 2006, but instead wound up in court facing charges of abuse of power. He became the first former president in the world to be tried and convicted in his own country for human rights violations. “After a long battle with cancer, our father, Alberto Fujimori, has just departed to meet the Lord,” she said on X Wednesday.

The plot to topple Putin

But it was only when Putin launched his full-scale invasion of Ukraine , in 2022, that Ammosov began to plot the overthrow of his homeland. As I found in months of wide-ranging interviews, everyone aspiring to a new Russian revolution grasps the seemingly impossible odds of their bid to topple Putin. Ponomarev — who was profiled last year in The Washington Post under the headline "Could this man bring down Putin?" Most applicants live in Russia, Sokolov tells me, but submissions have come from as far away as Uruguay. Washington CNN —Vice President Kamala Harris has met more than 150 world leaders since becoming vice president. Still, Harris has not always been the first phone call for foreign leaders or officials looking to get a line into the White House. For a foreign policy novice with aspirations for higher office, the war in Ukraine was a rigorous introduction to wartime diplomacy. When people say they're concerned about "the economy," it can mean a lot of things — grocery prices, gas prices, housing prices, healthcare. For one thing, it's not clear that voters think Harris, as vice president, has had much involvement in Biden's economic policies. People remember the Trump economy as a better time — interest rates were lower, prices were lower, houses seemed more affordable.
