All over TikTok, "girl math" is being used to justify almost any purchase, from everyday things like $5 coffees to big-ticket items like concert tickets. While everyone's version of girl math is different, it typically involves rationalizing your spending in often illogical ways. Say you buy your daily coffee with cash, rather than your credit card — it's basically free, according to girl math. On TikTok, there are hundreds of videos tagged as "girl math," with some amassing millions of views. "That strategy straight-up does not work because it will catch up with you," Tu tells CNBC Make It.

CNN —Tori Penso watched the 2019 Women’s World Cup at home with her eight-month-old daughter in her arms. Four years and countless professional matches later, Penso will proudly walk onto the pitch with Australia and England to referee the semifinal match of the Women’s World Cup at Sydney’s Stadium Australia on Wednesday. Two years after that, Penso was selected by soccer’s world governing boy FIFA as one of six American referees to go to Australia and New Zealand for the 2023 Women’s World Cup. “If you told me six years ago that I would be here talking to you about to head to New Zealand and Australia for the Women’s World Cup I would have said no way,” she said. Her selection for the Women’s World Cup, once her main goal, is now a stepping stone along her journey to the top of the women’s and men’s game.

Ukraine’s National Resistance Center — an official body — claimed Tuesday that the construction of another camp to host Wagner Group fighters has begun in the Zyabrovka Air Base in Belarus. “On the border with Ukraine, in the village of Zyabrovka in the Republic of Belarus, a new camp for 'Wagner' PMC mercenaries is being built,” the center said on its website. Zyabrovka is located near Gomel in southeastern Belarus, about 40 kilometers from the border with Ukraine's Chernihiv region. The camp can house around 1,000 personnel, the center said, and it looks like a tent city. Moscow used Belarusian territory to facilitate its invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, strengthening ties between President Vladimir Putin and Lukashenko.

Trump’s attorneys, including Todd Blanche, received the target letter from Smith’s team informing them that their client could face charges in the investigation into efforts to overturn the 2020 election, two sources familiar with what happened tell CNN. A target letter from federal prosecutors to Trump makes clear that prosecutors are focused on the former president’s actions in the investigation into overturning the 2020 election – and not just of those around him who tried to stop his election loss. The target letter cites three statutes that Trump could be charged with, according to multiple news outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, that cited a person familiar with the matter. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg charged the former president with falsifying business records in March, and Smith charged Trump in the classified documents investigation last month. And she concluded the press conference saying she expects the general public will support the actors in the strike, and issuing a warning that foretold what could happen if they don't win. For people of color, talking about money with a financial planner or money coach can be daunting. "If we don't talk about our money goals or wins, how can we view money as a tool?" Figure out what kind of help you're looking forFirst, ask yourself if you're looking for a financial advisor or money coach, or potentially both. Many financial advisors are fiduciaries, who are legally obligated to act in your financial interest. Taylor doesn’t force you to choose, because she is both The Lucky One you want to be, and every bit the Anti-Hero you are inside. Like Taylor, she dresses to be pretty and cool (and sometimes, for revenge), but inside, she is in all kinds of pain. She finds in Taylor Swift an actual hero who meets her where she is but also shows her the badass place she could get to — so intoxicating precisely because it is within reach. “What would Taylor Swift do?” is a refrain among certain patients in my practice. Taylor Swift articulates not only the treachery of bullying but also the cruelty just shy of it that is even more pervasive: meanness, exclusion, intermittent ghosting.

NEW YORK, June 15 (Reuters) - Maternity care for Black women needs to be radically improved so that other pregnant women do not end up dying like 2016 Olympic relay champion Tori Bowie, track and field's most decorated woman Allyson Felix said on Thursday. loading"Three gold medalists from that 4x100 relay team in Rio set out to become mothers. All three of us — all Black women — had serious complications," Felix, who collected seven Olympic gold medals during her career, wrote in Time magazine. "This is America, in 2023, and Black women are dying while giving birth. "I’m hopeful that Tori, who stood on the podium at Rio, gold around her neck and sweetness in her soul, won’t die in vain."

But it can develop in anyone, including someone who’s thin and super healthy,” said Dr. Nicole Calloway Rankins, a maternal health advocate and obstetrician-gynecologist in Richmond, Virginia. However, high blood pressure, often called the “silent killer,” does not always show signs, so the best prevention is regular checkups and blood pressure readings throughout pregnancy, experts say. That’s literally a hypertensive crisis.”For people worried about heart disease, blood pressure at those levels would be concerning, but not a crisis. What is it about pregnancy that makes high blood pressure so dangerous? “We really have to be vigilant and understand that blood pressure in pregnancy is different than outside of pregnancy.

Track and Field Career: She was the world’s fastest woman. Bowie’s ascension to the fastest woman in the world began on a basketball court in Sandhill, Miss. Pisgah High School was too small to field separate basketball and track teams, so if Bowie wanted to play basketball, she would have to run track, too. She went on to help her track team win state titles, competing in the 100 meters, 200 meters, 4x100-meter relay and long jump. “It was one of the best conversations we’ve had in a long time,” Holland said over the phone on Monday.

June 13 (Reuters) - Former 100 metres world champion Tori Bowie died from complications during childbirth, U.S. media reported. The American, who won gold, silver and bronze medals at the Rio Games in 2016 and was crowned world champion a year later, died on May 3 at the age of 32. An autopsy report from the Orange County (Florida) Medical Examiner's Office obtained by USA TODAY Sports said Bowie was approximately eight months pregnant and experiencing labour when she died. Possible complications included respiratory distress and eclampsia, a rare condition which can cause seizures. Bowie's agent Kimberly Holland told CBS News the news would end the "hurtful" speculation about the cause of death.

What to Know About Eclampsia

The report identified complications of childbirth as the cause of death, listing eclampsia and respiratory distress as possible factors. “Eclampsia occurs in somewhere between one to 10 in 10,000 pregnancies,” said Dr. Joanne Stone, the head of the department of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive science at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Research has suggested that rates of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy — including pre-eclampsia, eclampsia and gestational hypertension — have been on the rise, and increased during the Covid-19 pandemic. What is eclampsia? There can be other causes of seizures during pregnancy, but it’s considered eclampsia “until proven otherwise” through lab tests, including neurological tests, Dr. Longo said.

Wildfire smoke turns the air orange for the same reason clear air makes the sky look blue — it has to do with what kind of tiny particles are in the air, how many there are and what wavelength color they block. As it passes through the Earth’s atmosphere, the sun’s light hits all of the molecules and particles in the air. Wildfire smoke blocks the shorter wavelengths — like yellow, green and blue — leaving just the red and orange to pass through. The light has more atmosphere to pass through before it gets to our eyes, which amplifies the colors and how thick the smoke looks in the air. In Oakland, Calif., in 1968, Huey P. Newton, the Black Panther leader, was convicted of killing a white police officer. In 1971, after two more trials and nearly two years in prison, he was cleared of all charges. That’s the question at the heart of “This Land Was Made,” the gutsy but murky new play by Tori Sampson at the Vineyard Theater. Most successful is the sitcom element, which could be titled “Trish’s,” an Oakland bar where everybody knows your name. For about 25 minutes, Sampson serves up something warm and piquant at Trish’s: an interplay of zingers, flirtations, spats and politics.

After a year of moving between foster homes, the twins petitioned to attend an all-Black boarding school in Mississippi, where their independence was contingent on high achievement. “I was always yearning to understand what it would look like to have a family,” Sampson said. “I wanted to write a story where Huey P. Newton walks into a bar and changes the lives of the people there forever,” Sampson said of the Black Panther Party co-founder. She got the idea for the play, a blend of historical fiction and sitcom conventions, when she learned that Newton’s rise to prominence began with an unsolved mystery. Sen. Peter Welch, a Democrat, noted that while he had some concerns about the deal, he planned to vote for it anyway. “I'd like to get rid of the debt ceiling, because this hostage-taking sort of approach is becoming institutionalized, very dangerous to the country. I think that Kevin McCarthy negotiated a good deal – for now,” the Iowa Republican said.
