CNN —Major League Baseball players have been faced with an unusual problem ahead of the new season: a malfunctioning wardrobe. Players and fans have already voiced their concerns about the new jerseys being worn this season, and on Thursday, as spring training games got underway, MLB Players’ Association (MLBPA) executive director Tony Clark also shared concerns about the pants. “A lot of the rhetoric is confirmation that the pants are see-through,” said Clark, according to ESPN. LONDON, Ontario (AP) — Authorities scheduled a news conference for Monday to discuss a 2018 case that has led to sexual assault charges against four current NHL players and a former NHL player, all of whom were on Canada's world junior hockey team that year. McLeod is facing an additional charge of being a party to the offense of sexual assault. A woman sued Hockey Canada in 2022, alleging she was sexually assaulted in a hotel room by eight members of Canada’s world junior team after a fundraising gala in London in June 2018. Hockey Canada settled the lawsuit, and then an investigation revealed the organization had two secret slush funds to pay out settlements on claims of sexual assault and abuse. Neptune Resources, which makes some tianeptine products, has issued a nationwide recall, according to an announcement posted this week. Products that contain tianeptine are sold under several brand names, including Pegasus and Zaza, the CDC says. The FDA has issued a warning urging consumers not to purchase or use tianeptine products due to serious risks including seizures, loss of consciousness and death. In recent years, at least two deaths related to tianeptine products marketed as dietary supplements have been reported to the FDA, data shows. Nine people said they had used tianeptine previously; six ingested tianeptine along with other substances, including alprazolam, kratom, tramadol, trazodone and gabapentin.

With lots of kids now getting their news from social media – where disinformation and content created by artificial intelligence run rampant – 18 states have some form of K-12 media literacy education on the books, according to Media Literacy Now. Of those, four – Delaware, Texas, New Jersey and, starting this year, California – mandate media literacy, with lesson standards now being crafted state by state. “But we haven’t really taught people how to use them ethically, efficiently and responsibly.”To do that, a media literacy lesson might include analyzing which emotions the wording of a mass media headline evoke. And California starting this year requires media literacy instruction to be integrated into K-12 mathematics, science and history-social science curriculums when they’re revised, according to the bill. The rate of suicides involving guns in the United States has reached the highest level since officials began tracking it more than 50 years ago, according to a new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The rate increased by more than 10 percent in 2022 compared with 2019, and in some racial and ethnic groups, the rise was significantly steeper, especially among Native Americans. Overall, about 27,000 of 50,000 suicides were carried out by gun in 2022.
