U.S. District Judge Valerie Caproni ruled that the NFL, the Denver Broncos, New York Giants and Houston Texans must face Flores' claims of systematic discrimination against Black coaches in the league. Caproni sent Flores' retaliation claim against the Dolphins to private arbitration, along with claims by two other coaches who joined Flores in the suit. Lawyers for the NFL and representatives of the other teams did not immediately respond to requests for comment. The NFL has denied claims of racial discrimination and said it is committed to diversity and equitable employment practices. The league has argued the case should be dismissed because the claims lacked merit, or be sent to arbitration pursuant to the coaches' employment contracts.
Florida-based Patrick Cohn, who teaches mental skills and sports psychology techniques to professional athletes, said he was not surprised Djokovic was still dominating the next generation. Cohn believes young players must rely on better preparation, tactics and develop a stronger mental game to topple Djokovic. I suggest to younger players that they view opponents as nameless and rankless." Former tennis player Jeff Greenwald, now a sports psychology consultant, said the Spanish world number two possessed rare qualities required to excel at the elite level. He will be a contender and likely one of the players who begins to take a bite out of Djokovic."
PHOENIX, Feb 10 (Reuters) - Patrick Mahomes will look to pull one more rabbit out of his hat on Sunday as the Kansas City Chiefs face the Philadelphia Eagles at Super Bowl 57. Mahomes overcame a high-ankle sprain in the divisional round to get the Chiefs to their third Super Bowl in four years, producing a heroic late-game sprint to help clinch the AFC Championship. Mahomes has helped his favorite target Travis Kelce become one of the greatest tight ends ever to play the game. Kelce is keen to banish memories of their last Super Bowl appearance two years ago, when Tom Brady's Tampa Bay Buccanneers humiliated them 31-9. "The last taste I had in my mouth of the Super Bowl, it wasn't too good," said Kelce, who will make history at State Farm Stadium with his brother, Eagles center Jason Kelce, as the first siblings to play each other in a Super Bowl.
Instead, he was grilled about the league's painfully slow progress when it comes to inclusion and diversity, particularly among head coaches. During last year's pre-game address, Goodell acknowledged that the NFL had fallen short when it comes to diversity and inclusion. Another persistent headache for the NFL are concussions, which jumped 18% during the 2022 regular season after three years of decline. The league came under intense criticism for its response to a concussion suffered by Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa in September. "Anytime we can change the protocols to make it safer for our players we're going to do that," assured Goodell.

The agreement to contest an AFC Championship between the Bills and Chiefs on a neutral site was designed to "mitigate the competitive inequities" created by the cancellation of the Week 17 game. "We are also grateful to Arthur Blank and the Atlanta Falcons for agreeing to host the AFC Championship Game in Atlanta should the Bills and Chiefs advance." The Bills are expected to play the Miami Dolphins in their Wild Card game on Sunday, while the Chiefs enjoy a playoff bye week. The AFC Championship will take place Jan. 29, at 6:30 p.m.

1 seed in the NFC with a 22-16 win over the visiting New York Giants on Sunday. Hurts led six scoring drives and the Eagles never trailed the Giants (9-7-1), who had already sewn up the No. 6 seed and opted to rest quarterback Daniel Jones, Pro Bowl running back Saquon Barkley and other starters. Smith finished the regular season with 4,282 yards passing, surpassing Russell Wilson's team record of 4,219 set in 2016. Baltimore's Anthony Brown was 19-of-44 passing for 286 yards and two interceptions in his first career NFL start.

With 19 teams still in the postseason hunt entering the final weekend, there was no shortage of gridiron suspense unfolding across the United States. At every stadium before kickoff there was an announcement acknowledging Hamlin and the first responders and medical caregivers. But the Bills that provided Hamlin with the best tribute of all, harnessing their emotions to secure a victory and the AFC second seed. "We just wanted to come out and play free, play loose, play for (Damar)," said Bills quarterback Josh Allen, who also threw three touchdown passes. Despite the loss, the Giants also qualify for the postseason, moving on to the wildcard, where they will face the Minnesota Vikings.
While the Bills have not said whether Hamlin was vaccinated, about 95% of NFL players have received a Covid-19 vaccine, according to the league. The blog proves no relationship between the incidents and Covid-19 vaccines; it also includes in its count reported deaths from cancer and emergencies of unknown causes. It' snot surprising that misleading claims about Covid-19 vaccines surged following Hamlin's cardia arrest, given how much vaccine misinformation has spread since the pandemic began, said Jeanine Guidry, a Virginia Commonwealth University professor who researches health misinformation and vaccine hesitancy. High-profile public events like Hamlin’s collapse often create new waves of misinformation as people grasp for explanations. For people concerned about vaccine safety, Hamlin’s sudden collapse served to affirm and justify their beliefs, Guidry said.

The NFL and the Washington Commanders misled the public about an investigation into decades-long misconduct in the team's workplace, according to a report from the House Oversight and Reform Committee released Thursday after a yearlong probe. The panel also said the NFL and Commanders owner Daniel Snyder impeded its investigation into the matter. The NFL told her to "complete a written report of its findings" surrounding the Commanders' workplace culture. But then the league refused to release the written report, instead presenting their findings orally in order to "better preserve" witness anonymity and confidentiality. In 2014, the NFL released a 144-page written report related to an investigation into the Miami Dolphins' alleged culture of harassment and bullying.
