The star of "Ted Lasso" made an appareance in the White House briefing room on Monday. Reporters asked to see another character played by Jason Sudeikis — Joe Biden — but Sudeikis turned them down. "You don't have a little Joe Biden impression?" Before playing Coach Lasso, Sudeikis appeared as the affable, aviator-wearing Biden as vice president on Saturday Night Live. His character returned to the show in 2021 when the new Biden, played by James Austin Johnson, got a visit from the ghosts of his past, including Jason Sudeikis' Biden from 2013.
Sen. John Fetterman has been hospitalized for clinical depression since February 15. Casey is coordinating with Fetterman staff on constituent services issues and legislative priorities, according to recent reports, but doesn't call Fetterman directly so as not to disturb his ongoing recovery. Some of the others working hard to meet that internal standard include legislative assistant Madeleine Marr, a former aide to Democratic Sen. Maggie Hassan of New Hampshire. Conservative commentator Stephen L. Miller has been more blunt, accusing Fetterman's staff of unduly wielding power in his absence. "John Fetterman's chief of staff is not an elected senator," Miller wrote in an op-ed run by the Delaware Valley Journal.
‘Ted Lasso’ Season 3 Review: Another Win for Coach
  + stars: | 2023-03-15 | by ( John Anderson | ) www.wsj.com   time to read: 1 min
Anyone who has felt burned by a television series (who hasn’t?) will approach the third and presumably final lap of the much-lauded, rightly loved “ Ted Lasso ” with some nervous questions in mind: Are they going to foul it up? Will the delicate touch that has scored so effectively with viewers and Emmy voters be abandoned for mawkish valedictions? Will the “Ted” team own-goal? They won’t, at least not based on the four episodes made available for review.
Even with those headwinds, the eternally upbeat Coach Lasso played by Jason Sudeikis has infused his team with family-like love to get through the tough times in the season that premieres on Wednesday. [1/2] Jason Sudeikis and the cast of "Ted Lasso" attend the Apple Original Series "Ted Lasso" Season 3 Red Carpet Premiere at Westwood Village Theater, Los Angeles, California, U.S., March 7, 2023. She wants Ted to win. She wants Ted to be recognized for the extraordinary force that he is," said Waddingham. Nathan Shelley, the equipment man-turned-assistant coach played by Nick Mohammed, has gone to coach an opposing team and talks trash about Lasso.
Apple is delaying bonuses for some of its employees, according to a new report in Bloomberg. Apple is also more closely watching travel budgets and leaving some unfilled positions open, according to the report. We're cutting hiring. And so a number of areas in the company are not hiring at all," Cook told CNBC in February. Last month, Apple announced December quarter earnings which were about 5% lower than they were in 2021, its first year-over-year revenue decline since 2019.
"Ted Lasso" has won multiple Emmy awards and Golden Globes for its first two seasons, but this month it's getting something new: an official ice cream flavor. The hit Apple TV+ series has partnered with Ohio-based Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams to put out a new limited edition flavor just in time for the premiere of the show's third season. CNBC Make It tried out the new ice cream ahead of its release. The collaboration has been in the works for about a year, representatives for Jeni's tell CNBC Make It, and it will be available at all Jeni's Scoop Shops. Customers who don't live near a scoop shop will be able to order the flavor off the Jeni's website for $12 per pint.
“We spoke with a clear voice in November,” Whitmer said in her annual State of the State speech, which she delivered in person for the first time since the beginning of the Covid pandemic. Whitmer, who was on President Joe Biden’s shortlist for vice president, is seen as a rising national star. “I know we might have different perspectives here, but I sure hope we can all get around supporting 4-year-olds across Michigan,” she said. “But the truth is that she set a record during her first term for vetoing bills, many which Republicans and Democrats worked together to pass.”In several policy areas, Whitmer spoke more defiantly or struck more partisan tones. I’m looking at you, Ohio and Indiana.”Those remarks drew a rebuke on social media from the Michigan Republican Party, which during the speech tweeted: “No.
‘Shrinking’ Review: When a Therapist Needs Therapy

The delicate polarities that exist within the world of “Shrinking” would certainly include the close-to-antic performance of Jason Segel vs. that of a dryly hilarious Harrison Ford. And the comic dynamic between the glorious Jessica Williams and the askew characters played by Messrs. Ford and Segel. But more essential to the 10-episode series is the seesawing sensation it maintains between profoundly dysfunctional people and feel-good comedy. But the overall sense is a little like laughing at a funeral; the human impulses are familiar, a little perverse and somehow comforting. Ms. Miller is wonderfully droll; Liz’s good deeds do not go unpunished.

In 2018 he moved from London to California to take up the role of VP, Apple Music and International Content.

Software engineer Brian Feldman created an archive of topics that trended on Twitter this year. The project revealed themes of global political unrest alongside memes and pop culture trends. The list of 457 different trending topics each highlighted a moment that Twitter showed Feldman users commenting en masse about a singular topic. From "Adidas" to "Ted Lasso," the trending topics revealed pop culture fads and memes that moved Twitter users to conversation — and often argument — about their preferences and opinions. Internationally, trends like "Cold War," "Russian Warship," and "Taiwan" also demonstrated how political unrest is being felt around the globe.
This is one of the reasons why Derbez is telling the story of a fictional resort using both English and Spanish. “I was always criticizing movies where I was seeing 007 (referring to the character James Bond) in Brazil and everyone speaks in English,” Derbez, who's also an executive producer of the show, said in an interview with NBC News. And that’s not the way it is.”The same goes for many TV shows being filmed in Mexico, Derbez said, which also show characters speaking only in English. He wants “Acapulco” to stand out by depicting the multilingual reality that he sees and lives in both countries. Episode nine of season two releases Friday on Apple TV+.
"It's definitely been not the most exciting and robust year," said one TV agent at a major agency. Around 70 people at HBO and HBO Max have been let go this year, and their comedy development teams have merged. While WBD doesn't break out streamer-specific figures, it said on Thursday's earnings call that HBO Max, HBO, and Discovery+ have a combined 94.9 million subscribers, ensuring that any show on HBO Max has the chance to get a lot of eyeballs. They'll also take smaller swings in the genre department, do things at a lower budget," said the second TV agent. Echoed the first TV agent: "You pitch and sell to them if no one else wants it."

Even right before her TV show "Insecure" premiered in 2016, Rae was "scared of being seen as difficult" to work with, she said at the Indeed FutureWorks 2022 conference earlier this month. In response, she sought guidance from other Black women she admired in the entertainment industry: Shonda Rhimes, Ava DuVernay, Debbie Allen and Mara Brock Akil. At the Indeed conference, Rae called it "the best career advice" she ever received. "I don't care how settled I may feel in my career, I don't care how much praise I get," she said. The advice Rae received from her career idols helped, she added: "I take away the fear of being labeled as [difficult].
Managers can use a number of research-backed interventions to foster employee happiness. Note to managers: Happiness drives business results. A study published in early 2022 found that employees with high measures of self-reported happiness upon starting their jobs performed better than those with lower measures of happiness. Cultivate happinessWhen it comes to boosting an employee's emotional well-being, there is only so much a boss can do. Lester and his co-researchers have recommended managers lead team exercises geared toward improving employee well-being.
On "Ted Lasso" Jason Sudeikis' titular character, an American football coach who manages a British soccer team, leads with optimism, camaraderie and the occasional homemade biscuit to butter up his boss. Off-screen, however, the Emmy-winning actor has relied on different strategies to build a successful career. Sudeikis explained to Indeed CMO Jessica Jensen that while he was growing up in Overland Park, Kansas, the goal was to take improv classes and learn about comedy writing. Then, when he moved to Chicago, that goal became finding work at Second City, a comedy club with famous alumni like Steve Carell and Tina Fey. That experience taught Sudeikis another important career lesson that would stick with him: "Pay attention to the people who have carved a path slightly ahead of you."
New York CNN —Grey Poupon wants in on Olivia Wilde’s salad dressing scandal. Confused as to why Dijon mustard has entered the celebrity discourse? The anonymous nanny offered private details about Wilde’s alleged romantic relationship with Styles, co-star of Wilde’s recent “Don’t Worry, Darling” film along with Florence Pugh. The nanny said that Wilde angered Sudeikis by preparing a salad for Styles with her ‘special dressing’ in the family kitchen. “Mix 2 tablespoons Grey Poupon mustard with 2 tablespoons good red wine vinegar,” the passage outlined by Wilde reads.
Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis have released a joint statement in response to allegations their ex-nanny made about the rocky dissolution of their relationship. While directing the film, which opened in theaters last month, Wilde began a relationship with one of its stars, Harry Styles. "As parents, it is incredibly upsetting to learn that a former nanny of our two young children would choose to make such false and scurrilous accusations about us publicly. Her now 18-month-long campaign of harassing us, as well as loved ones, close friends and colleagues, has reached its unfortunate apex," Wilde and Sudeikis said in a joint statement Monday. It was really upsetting.
Discovery abruptly axed, then reinstated, its longstanding TV writers' training program. Numerous TV writers told Insider they would not have been able to establish their careers without the TV workshop. The WBTV workshops not only developed emerging talents, but also helped ease their way into paid work in Hollywood. But even with Zaslav examining every asset across the company to find a promised $3 billion in synergies, the WBTV writers' and directors' workshops seemed unlikely targets. "The training is just phenomenal," a third alum of the writers' workshop told Insider.
Bumble launched Bantr Live on Thursday and says it plans to host the weekly event until Dec. 31. The feature is based on the Bantr dating app from Apple TV+'s Ted Lasso starring Jason Sudeikis. "Bantr Live enables our community to connect with someone unexpected and learn more about a person before seeing them," Yu added. IN SEPTEMBER, Jason Sudeikis accepted the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his performance in “Ted Lasso,” the Apple TV+ streamer. In what we consider an oversight, however, his mustache was not awarded its own statuette for best supporting role. This enviably thick, above-the-lip thatch is the defining physical trait of Ted Lasso, the lovable Midwestern football coach fumbling his way through the hurly-burly world of British soccer. And it perfectly matches Mr. Lasso’s character: The coach has become a poster boy for nice guys, thanks to an irrepressibly sunny disposition, and his is the golden retriever of ’staches. Thick yet tidy, it helps Mr. Lasso convey affability, vulnerability and humor, said Deborah Nadoolman Landis, founding director of the David C. Copley Center for the Study of Costume Design at UCLA.
