The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) said in a statement it had issued orders, which, effective from Sept 13, prohibit 3AC founder Zhu Su and Kyle Livingston Davies from performing any regulated activity and from managing any capital market services firms in Singapore. "Senior management of fund managers are required to implement robust risk management measures to protect the interest of investors," Loo Siew Yee, MAS Assistant Managing Director said. Representatives for Zhu and Davies could not immediately be reached for comment.

Hong Kong CNN —Alibaba Group will embrace artificial intelligence (AI) and promote younger people to senior management, its new CEO says, as the e-commerce and cloud giant tackles its most ambitious restructuring in its history. “Times are changing, and so must Alibaba!” Eddie Wu, who stepped into the chief executive role on Sunday, said in a memo to staff seen by CNN. Wu replaced Daniel Zhang to become Alibaba (BABA)’s fourth CEO in its 24-year history. According to a plan announced in March, Alibaba will split into six separate units, including cloud, e-commerce, logistics, media and entertainment. CNN —Former National Football League reporter Jim Trotter filed a discrimination lawsuit against the NFL and NFL Media Tuesday, alleging that he was let go by the football league because he publicly challenged Commissioner Roger Goodell and other executives on the NFL’s “record of race discrimination and lack of diversity.”Trotter worked as a sports reporter for the NFL from 2018 until March. Trotter’s departure from NFL Media was one of many difficult decisions — similar to decisions recently made by many other media organizations — to address a challenging economy and a changing media environment,” an NFL spokesperson said. We take his concerns seriously, but strongly dispute his specific allegations, particularly those made against his dedicated colleagues at NFL Media,” a league spokesperson said. CNN —UBS is being fined for missteps by Credit Suisse less than two months after UBS completed an emergency takeover of its former rival. On Monday, the Federal Reserve said it would fine UBS for “misconduct” by Credit Suisse in its risk management of Archegos Capital Management, an investment fund that collapsed in 2021. All told, the fines levied against UBS announced Monday total $387 million – including fines from the Swiss government and the Bank of England. In its announcement of the fine, the Federal Reserve Board said that Credit Suisse practiced “unsafe and unsound” credit risk management practices in its dealings with Archegos. UBS and Credit Suisse have also been ordered to submit a plan to strengthen oversight of their US operations and senior management in the next 120 days.

TOKYO, June 24 (Reuters) - Nissan (7201.T) has launched an investigation into claims by a senior adviser that Chief Executive Makoto Uchida carried out surveillance of his deputy Ashwani Gupta, four people with direct knowledge of the matter said. In the letter, Nada said Uchida carried out surveillance over a long period. Asked to comment on the surveillance investigation, Nissan said in response to Reuters: "Independent third parties have been retained to verify facts and carry out appropriate actions." Nada did not detail in the letter how he knew of the alleged surveillance of Gupta. Nada is a member of two executive committees established by Nissan in 2019 as part of a governance reform after the Ghosn scandal.
