The annual Florida Python Challenge has slithered to its conclusion, with professionally-categorized python purger Ronald Kiger crowned its victor after removing 20 Burmese pythons from the Florida Everglades. The commission revealed 195 Burmese pythons were successfully removed from the wild during the challenge. The hunt is designed to bring awareness to the invasive threat of the Burmese python species in Florida. These snakes are found primarily in and around the Everglades ecosystem in South Florida, where they prey on birds, mammals and other reptiles. Burmese pythons can spread diseases amongst native animals, affect native snakes and have high mercury levels that are dangerous for human consumption.

Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign is making its latest push to Asian American voters, releasing a personal ad about her mother, Shyamala Gopalan. More device explosions were reported across Lebanon on Wednesday, a day after pagers belonging to Hezbollah members detonated across the country, killing at least 12 people and injuring nearly 3,000, state media reported. According to Lebanon's National News Agency, or NNA, "a number" of wounded people had been taken to hospitals in the southern suburbs of Beirut after their wireless pagers exploded. At least three people were killed in device explosions Wednesday, NNA reported. Al-Manar, a Hezbollah-affiliated news agency, reported that wireless devices exploded in people’s hands across the country. The Associated Press reported that its own journalists were in Beirut at a funeral for four people killed by exploding pagers the day before when they heard "multiple explosions at the site."

Passengers said a pressurization issue on a Delta Air Lines flight Sunday left them with bloody noses and ears. A spokesperson for the airline company said that Flight 1203 from Salt Lake City to Portland, Oregon, was unable to pressurize above 10,000 feet. Passenger Jaci Purser told NBC affiliate KSL-TV of Salt Lake City that she felt her ear pop and then bubble because of the pressure in the cabin. It's not clear what caused the pressurization issue but Delta technicians were able to fix it. The plane was briefly taken out of service Sunday morning and went back into service the following day, Delta said.

Atlanta police on Tuesday continued to search for two robbers captured on video dropping into a check cashing store from the ceiling and grabbing stacks of cash from a safe. The images appear to be taken from the security video. The department also released some of that morning's video, captured from inside the store as its ceiling was breached and including the robbers' exit. A robber falls through the ceiling of a check cashing business in southwest Atlanta on Sept. 3. They fled out the rear portal, and video captured a woman walking by just after the door was opened.

Police in Michigan are investigating after a car hit and killed a toddler who appeared to have left her home after being put to bed on Friday. According to a statement from the Michigan State Police, a 2-year-old girl “got out of her bed and walked out of the house” while her parents were working around the family’s home in Allen Township, a small community about an hour southeast of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Police were called at 8:20 p.m. about a “car versus pedestrian crash” and found the young child in the road. An autopsy will be performed on the child, Jackson Post Troopers said in the release, and the investigation is ongoing.
