Though she made the image four and a half decades ago, “Woman with Blue Bow” seems strikingly contemporary — a timeless symbol on the strictures of femininity. Though Callis and her body of work fits neatly within this cohort, it’s not a label that Callis adopted, then or now. Callis' early color work explored restriction and desire at the height of the feminist art movement. Jo Ann Callis/Courtesy ROSEGALLERYThe red imprint on the model’s neck, alluding to discomfort, was not actually caused by the bow, Callis explained, but was rather an illusion thanks to makeup. It’s just one of the many nuances in her color work that she would not have been able to pull off in black and white.

But the apparent role of AI in Microsoft’s recent amplification of bogus stories raises questions about the company’s public adoption of the nascent technology and for the journalism industry as a whole. Buyers are increasingly going electric—some because electric shavers lead to far less landfill waste than disposable versions you’d replace daily or weekly. The back of the leg calls for pivoting heads, too, says Dr. Sarkar. “Many electric shavers have Lithium-ion batteries,” notes Dr. Sarkar—so carry-on would be your only option. Epilators, which do remove hair this way, sometimes get misclassified as electric shavers. So I can say from experience that today's corporate return-to-office mandates are ridiculous, unnecessary and, in some instances, even cruel. For one, CEOs and CFOs are looking at big expenditures on corporate offices that remain either empty or are vastly oversized. The best run companies are focusing more on the thing they can best measure from afar: the work employees actually do. Not only do you do the work, you also eat there, work out there, and do your hobbies on campus. An office work environment will naturally evolve back to being a social hub over time, without draconian mandates that lack data and research to support them.
