First Solar : Shares rose more than 3% after the solar firm's quarterly earnings topped estimates, and its guidance was formidable. Urban Outfitters : Shares fell 13% after earnings, revenue and same-store sales growth missed Wall Street's expectations. While Cramer complimented the performance of its clothing-rental business, Nuuly, he said investors should not view Urban Outfitters as much more than an industry temperature check. That seems like good news for GE Healthcare , according to Cramer, whose Charitable Trust also owns shares of the medical-equipment maker. GE Healthcare has been the best-performing health-care stock in the S & P 500 in February, "and it's not done," Cramer said.

In general, it's pretty easy to make decent potatoes — but here are my best tips for making truly great ones. Be mindful when choosing the kind of potato you're cooking withWaxy potatoes, like red potatoes, are best boiled or sliced and roasted since they maintain their shape and texture. Buying potatoes with dirt is no big deal, but avoid green spotsWhen buying potatoes, a little dirt is totally fine. Salt potatoes to upgrade their textureLove it or hate it, salt is the key to making a lot of things taste great. Despite what many people think, cooking potatoes on a bed of salt isn't going to make them super salty.

On its surface, food seems like a safe, low-stakes topic of conversation. Yet just like on matters of religion and politics, discussions of food can become surprisingly contentious — to demonstrate this, just ask your dinner guests to consider whether a hot dog is a sandwich. And some dissect food trends like bone broth, cold brew coffee and air fryers to judge whether the hype is warranted. Starter episode: “What’s The Best Type of French Fry?”As you’d expect from a BBC World Service production, this series has a nuanced, global perspective on the production and consumption of food. Although the guests featured in this American Public Media series are all food professionals, part of the fun is just how varied their recipes are in terms of both complexity and category.

CNN —A new study finds that the asthma medication Xolair may substantially reduce severe allergic reactions in people who have multiple food allergies and are accidentally exposed to those foods. There is no cure for food allergies, and the only other FDA-approved treatment is Palforzia, an oral immunotherapy for peanut allergies in children between 4 and 17 years old. “But the reality is that most of our patients don’t just have peanut allergy,” Wood added. For people who have multiple severe food allergies and even moderate to severe allergic asthma, Casale says, Xolair might be the best treatment option. Xolair does not eliminate food allergies, and unlike with some environmental allergies such as pollen, many people never outgrow them, Casale added.

To upgrade boxed brownies, I'd switch my baking vessel or add some extracts to the batter. You can also throw in salty snacks, extra chocolate, peanut butter, or coffee. Even if your mix already has chocolate chips, add in the chopped chocolate anyways. Chocolate chips contain stabilizers that help them maintain their shape, but chopped chocolate will create beautiful melted pockets in the brownies. If you want a subtle boost to the chocolate flavor of your brownies, add a teaspoon or two of espresso powder to the batter.

Read previewA personal trainer and college student lost over 13 pounds in a month while eating a Domino’s pizza every day, to prove that it’s possible to enjoy treats and lose fat as long as you’re in a calorie deficit . “Foods shouldn't be feared just because they've undergone some sort of processing,” Jayden Lee, 18, Lee told Business Insider. Typically, weight loss of one to two pounds a month on average is deemed safe. Here's what my partner and I usually get for $350 in our high-cost-of-living California city. AdvertisementWe usually pick up variety packs of Poppi, which contain prebiotics for gut health and have fewer calories and added sugars than most sodas. There are few places to grab bagels around my home now, so the bagels at Costco are a decent replacement. Instead of using cream cheese, I put Laughing Cow spreadable cheese on my bagel, preferably the light option if Costco has it. It's a good substitute for unhealthier snacks, and a pack of 60 only costs us about $10 at Costco.

Research suggests that gut health is central to overall health. A prominent study found that eating 30 plants a week leads to a more diverse gut microbiome. “Looking after your gut health really lowers your risk of things like colon cancer and inflammatory bowel disease, and it can look after your mental health,” Gabrielle Morse, a gut health specialist and registered dietitian at The Gut Health Clinic , told Business Insider. “There's a gut-liver axis, so our gut health looks after our liver. A medication used to treat asthma can now be used to help people with food allergies avoid severe reactions, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said Friday. Xolair, the brand name for the drug omalizumab, became the first medication approved to reduce allergic reactions caused by accidental exposure to food triggers. An estimated 17 million people in the U.S. have the type of food allergies that can cause rapid, serious symptoms, including severe, whole-body reactions that are potentially deadly. Wood estimated that 25% to 50% of people with food allergies, particularly children and young adults, would elect to use Xolair. The drug has been used “off-label” to treat food allergies, said Dr. Ruchi Gupta, director of the Center for Food Allergy & Asthma Research at Northwestern University.
