CNN —Former Hungarian fencer László Csongrádi has been left so distraught by the theft of his Olympic gold medal that he has offered to leave it to the thief in his will if it is returned. Csongrádi, 65, won the Olympic gold in the men’s team sabre competition at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. “For two weeks, I can’t calm down and be happy because everything reminds me of my stolen Olympic gold medal,” Csongrádi told Hungary’s Sportal website. “He could have taken other important things, but for some reason (the medal) was all he was interested in,” he added. “The thief touched many things, many fingerprints were left behind, but there is nothing to identify them.

LOS ANGELES — When Simone Biles won her first world championship in 2013, her agent at the time asked her a seminal question: What did she hope to accomplish in the sport of gymnastics? Olympic gold medals may have come up, but one of the wish list items Biles remembers most fondly was a long-held desire to have her own tour across the U.S.Like many of her goals, it has come to fruition in spectacular fashion. In the decade since she first pondered her aspirations in the sport, Biles has won 11 Olympic medals and 30 world championship medals, making her the most decorated gymnast in history. After her tour de force showing at the Paris Olympics this summer, she is making the rounds to 30 American cities to connect and celebrate with the fans who cheered her to greatness from home. It’s called the Gold Over America Tour, which can be abbreviated, appropriately, as “GOAT.”“It’s really about sharing that love and passion for the sport with the audience,” Biles said backstage before Friday’s Los Angeles show.

CNN —American gymnast Jordan Chiles’ legal team has submitted a new application in the Federal Supreme Court of Switzerland over the decision that led to her losing an Olympic bronze medal, pointing toward new video evidence that Chiles’ lawyers say proves her case. Chiles’ attorneys say that a documentary crew has video and audio recordings to prove Chiles’ case. Romanian gymnast Ana Bǎrbosu appeared to have locked up the bronze medal after Chiles finished her routine. That decision led to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) handing the bronze medal to Bǎrbosu. Chiles’ latest filing follows an earlier filing, from September 16, where Chiles opted to appeal CAS’ decision to the Federal Supreme Court of Switzerland.

CNN —After a long, history-making WNBA season that featured a break for the Paris Olympics, the postseason is finally here. 1 New York Liberty – 1 p.m. It has been on the losing side in the WNBA Finals on five occasions, most recently against the Las Vegas Aces last year. After a spectacular rookie season, Clark will now be tested by the trials and tribulations of the postseason for the first time. Over the years, Israel has viewed “targeted killings” as a way to deter attacks on the county, fuel fear among its enemies and exact revenge. Iran’s nuclear program is closer to building a bomb than ever, even after several nuclear scientists were killed, he said. But the Mossad operation dismayed Israeli Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion, who demanded the resignation of the spy service’s chief. Almost four decades later, Israel killed a major Hamas official, Mahmoud al-Mabhouh, in a Dubai hotel in a complex plot involving more than two dozen Mossad operatives. American gymnast Jordan Chiles has appealed to the Switzerland supreme court to reclaim her bronze medal from the Paris Olympics, Chiles’s attorneys announced Monday. During the women’s floor exercise final in Paris, Chiles was moved up to third place — and awarded bronze — after challenging the judges’ score over one of the elements in her routine. However, she was moved down to fifth days later after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (based in Switzerland) ruled her challenge was submitted four seconds late. The International Olympic Committee then awarded bronze to Romania’s Ana Bărbosu and asked Chiles to return her medal. Chiles has appealed to the Federal Supreme Court of Switzerland to overturn the decision.

CNN —Jordan Chiles filed an appeal of the decision that led to the US gymnast being stripped of an Olympic bronze medal, her attorneys announced Monday. Chiles was stripped of her first individual Olympic medal after the Romanian gymnastics team challenged the decision to revise her final score in the floor exercise to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). Chiles has now opted to appeal CAS’ decision to the Federal Supreme Court of Switzerland – where CAS is based. “Jordan Chiles’ appeals present the international community with an easy legal question—will everyone stand by while an Olympic athlete who has done only the right thing is stripped of her medal because of fundamental unfairness in an ad-hoc arbitration process?
