The German sports apparel brand on Thursday announced the signing of Kaleena Smith as its first high school girl's basketball partner under a name, image and likeness, or NIL, deal. The young basketball phenomenon represents Candace Parker's first signing since she took over as president of Adidas women's basketball in May. Parker, a former first-round WNBA draft pick, played 16 seasons in the WNBA and is a three-time WNBA champion and seven-time WNBA All-Star. The storm will bring “life-threatening” flooding rainfall up to 30 inches to Honduras and double-digit rainfall totals to other parts of Central America, the NHC warned. This scenario would bring strong winds and torrential rain to Central America, but could keep the storm away from the US entirely or have it approach as a very weak storm. It would still unleash life-threatening flooding rainfall in Central America and head for dangerous strike on Belize and Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. This would bring more substantial impacts to Central America, the Yucatán and Belize and a much more troubling forecast for the US.

In just one hour, nearly a month’s worth of rainfall inundated the city of Malaga, in Spain’s Andalusia region, according to the country’s meteorological agency AEMet. The southern Spanish province picked up roughly 100 millimeters (4 inches) of rain so far on Wednesday, 78 millimeters (3 inches) of which fell within an hour. The Malaga City Council issued evacuation orders Wednesday near the Campanillas River due to the risk of overflowing. The coastal area of Valencia province has now been issued a red weather warning for Thursday. The City Council of Valencia announced that school activities are suspended throughout Valencia city and its districts this Wednesday and Thursday to avoid risks.

CNN —The oldest known tablet inscribed with the Ten Commandments from the Old Testament is expected to fetch up to $2 million when it goes up for auction next month. The ancient stone will be on show in Sotheby's New York showroom from December 5, before going on sale later in the month. The inscription was placed face upward and the stone was exposed to heavy foot traffic. According to a press statement sent to CNN by Sotheby’s, which will auction the tablet in New York next month, the stone was sold to a scholar in 1943. Last year, a Hebrew Bible more than 1,000 years old was sold for $38.1 million at Sotheby’s in New York.

The Tesla CEO said this week that he planned to post a public "leaderboard for the most insanely dumb spending of your tax dollars." While the effectiveness of Musk's leaderboard remains to be seen, experts told Business Insider it showed his marketing savvy — even if it could also encourage "gotcha" moments that need more context. Especially in a dry realm such as government spending, Musk's plans are bound to grab eyeballs — and perhaps make people feel more invested in the outcome.
