TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have agreed to hire Kentucky assistant coach Liam Coen to be their offensive coordinator, a person familiar with the decision told The Associated Press. Coen would replace Dave Canales, who left to become Carolina’s head coach after one season in Tampa Bay. Coen, who was the Wildcats’ offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, spent the 2022 season as the offensive coordinator for the Rams, where Baker Mayfield made four starts. Mayfield revived his career with Canales and the Buccaneers, leading them to an NFC South title and a playoff win. He’s set to become a free agent, and reuniting with Coen increases Tampa Bay’s opportunity to re-sign him.

RENTON, Wash. (AP) — Veteran NFL coach Leslie Frazier is expected to join the Seattle Seahawks as an associate head coach, two people with knowledge of the hire told The Associated Press on Friday. The move pairs the youngest head coach in the NFL with Frazier, who has experience as an assistant and head coach in the league. CNN —Coaching vacancies continue to be filled around the NFL, as the Atlanta Falcons announced on Wednesday that Raheem Morris had been hired as head coach of the organization, while the Carolina Panthers named Dave Canales as their new head coach. Social media is abuzz with suggestions that the logo used to promote the Super Bowl each year includes the colors of the two teams who will play in the season’s showpiece finale.
